trying to get the hang of it

hey guys, i'm trying to get a routine together that will be consistent and help me steadily gain weight. i'm on about my fourth week, but i'm not sure if what i'm doing will yield optimal results. for instance one week i tried working out twice a day five days a week and i decided maybe it was too much. i'm still looking to do five days a week, but right now i'm on upper body mon, wed, and friday. and lower body tues, and thurs. i assume this is pretty typical, but where should i throw in abs and stuff? thanks.
 
bump.. i guess what i'm really asking is where should i work in abs?
 
Abs can be thrown in anywhere. From what you have, I'd say to throw it in on Monday and Thursday. I personally like doing abs when I do squats, but really they can be worked whenever.
 
I do abs on lower body days, too, but I don't think there's any reason you can't do them on upper body days if you wanted to.
