help...

I am 21 years old and have recently lost around 80 pounds and about ten pant sizes...I still have about 50 that I want to lose, so there is definately work still to be done. My problem is that 1) I have hit a platue and it seems like I can not lose anymore weight. No matter what I was doing the weight was just always there. 2) I now have loose skin that I can not get rid of...I did a lot of toning exercises, watched the foods I was eating, jogged everyday and was applying firming lotion every night...but nothing seems to be working. What am I doing wrong, or what could I do to help? I am to the point of contacting a surgeon to have a tummy tuck or something, but would really like to finish what I started all by myself...

Grats on the weight loss, I am in the same boat as you pretty much, lost 60 pounds, got 50 more to go. I haven't been eating that well over the last 3 days, just keep your head up, try new stuff, have you looked into HIIT? Maybe drop your calorie intake a little more. The loose skin won't likely go away, so talking to a surgeon and getting some questions answered wouldn't be a bad idea. If you do choose to get a tummy tuck, wait for the last 50 pounds to come off. Good luck :)

Exactly how are you expecting us to answer this question when you haven't told us what you're doing? In any kind of detail, that is. This isn't Crossing Over with John Edward, it's training.fitness.com. Come on now. :boxing_smiley: Tell us exactly what you've done, and eaten, and when, for the last week, and then maybe you'll get an answer that isn't a wild guess.

Also, as a male, considering cosmetic surgery before you're under, say, 8'ish% body fat is pretty silly, unless you like throwing away time and money and risking your health unnecessarily. See, your skin is like a balloon. While it's still full of fat, of course it's going to sag. Once you empty it, it will over time tighten right up. To an extent based on care and genetics. But don't get lazy now. You've still got a long ways to go. :)

Also, if you run a search on loose skin you'll find a post by orange-something you might want to read, showing his amazing progress with his loose skin once he got down to a low bodyfat percentage and gave it some time.

Tell us how much you weigh, your height, and how many calories you eat. That will be a good start; don't worry about focus, he is tough on the outside but he is all soft and gooey on the inside, and he can give you good advice. :D

Thanks

Thank you guys for the feed back...I guess I forgot to mention that I was female. Umm...I am around 5'6" and now weigh around 220-230 I started losing weight when I got to around 300+. My schedule has really gotten thrown off due to work, school and moving, so I will have to get back with you guys on the whole routine. I know that does not help much, but I was really trying to figure out some new things that I could try once I get booted back up. I get really bored with things, if I don't feel like they are working then I try to find new things to challenge my whole body. Thank you Focus for being a little "rough" I need to be slapped around so that I can get some motivation back. :) This whole process started when I met a guy that could be "the one" he was training for football and him talking about his training and working out all the time was a real motivator! I am a complete newb...what does HIIT mean? I have been teaching myself how to do different things and doing research to find ways to activate all of my muscles whenever I work out but I feel like I have hit a wall...Thank you guys again and I can't wait to hear back...
