BMI Says I am fat

Ok I am feeling better
My waist is less than 33 but 33 is the closest
I can wear 33 dockers and still have about an inch so maybe its 32?
I have a body fat level of 14.2 if I use 33..and an 11.2 if I use 32

My waist is 35 inches during the day most of the time...

It's not fat though, all muscle

lol

At the start of May 36" waist trousers were TIGHT on me. Then again, I weighed 88 kilos. I now weigh 72 and 32" waist trousers fit me just the way I like - not tight, not too loose, just right. Err, well I guess most people like it that way )

Thinking about it, I have lost 16 kilos (33 lbs) in 12 weeks. Not too shabby. Still got a little to shift off the old waist and chest. Then on to some serious lifting

BMI can be misleading. one has to divide their weight in kg by hight in meters squared so it should look like this Weight(kg)/Height(meters^2) for every 2.2 lb it =1kg. Also, the Body Mass Index does not take into account muscle mass. So, I weigh 158 and I am 5'7 my BMI would be 24.7 I'm .2 point away from being obese. most of my weight comes from muscle mass as well. Just shows that the BMI is not always accurate.

I am a 30 year old male..work out 4-5 days a week..very little fat..on my stomach..I tell people that I diet/watch what I eat..they tell me I am crazy and have nothing left to lose..I don't eat junk food just in general
My BMI is 25.2..I am 5'9 and about 172.
Am I overweight? I do have some muscle..I do have sort of a V shape

BMI is useful for population studies, where most people's extra weight is unhealthy fat, but a muscular person may have high BMI without having excess unhealthy fat (although some people may have large amounts of muscle and excess fat).

Have you measured your body fat percentage? Is your waist less than half your height?

My BMI suggests I should be dead.

Therefore, it must be wrong ;)
