Dead lift injury.

Any one ever do a injury while performing dead lifts to there lower back? First one for me and i got this muscle thats just farking killing me

Is it an injury or a sore muscle? If a sore muscle, yeah, I get them just about every time I do them because I am still a rookie with them.

By the way, my kangaroo avatar is cooler than yours:)

I haven't hurt my lower back doing deadlifts, but I really screwed up my neck. I tweaked it about three weeks ago, and it's was aching on and off for a bit.

Something happened recently that has REALLY aggravated it and I'm pretty much on injured reserve until this pain goes away...

Where's the pain and what does it feel like?

Is it short, sharp pain or dull ache when moving about. If it is the latter and in the lower back then it'll just be muscle soreness 99/100. I get it all the time after deadlifting, I'm lifting over my body weight now and the soreness is just as bad as when i was only lifting light. It'll take a while for your body to adjust to deadlifts but keep at them cos they are second to none.

Just ensure your form is spot on, get someone to check for you whilst your doing them. It's the easiest exercise to injury yourself doing and can cause long term problems if not done correctly.

Its gone dormant now and i can do pretty much everything but there will be an occasion where ill move a certain way and feel a little bit of pain but nothing like the first night i did it. I have often found with these sorts of injury's that the pain goes away before the injury is healed properly and you can re injure it if not careful. I think the key from now on is to just do really light dead lifts that put not strain on my back until healed to 100%

If your new to deadlifts then you'll probably find it might take a few days to completely recover. When I first started doing them I would get a dull ache in my lower back when running upto 7 days after doing deadlifts. Keep going with them with light weights and good form and your back will get stronger and you'll recover alot quicker.

Keep doing them though mate, nothing adds muscle and size quite like deadlifts. They have a growth effect on the whole body, same as squats.
