Push Ups?

so i bought the perfect pushup things about a month ago and much to my surprise it actually worked!! lol but yea my question is should i do them everyday or every other day? im currently doing 150 every other day. Do you think if i do it everyday ill build up faster?

I didnt know where to post this lol i accidently put it in the body building part dunno how to delete it. Sorry admin guys =P
 
Never do it everyday. Your muscles need rest and doing the same muscles everyday will only cause harm.
 
I think doing them every other day is even too much. Every three days or more for a chest workout is my belief.

Everyone is different though, your body might repair every other day, but I'm guessing you are sore most of the time. If you are never sore, do more pushups each session. You should increase the number of pushups and lessen the time taken to do them each session too of course.
 
I say do them everyday as long as you aren't sore.

I mean they aren't a weighted low rep exercise.... its like saying i walked 20km yesterday so i won't do i any walking today while my legs recover.... to me its the same thing.

Why is that? Just because it isnt weighted and low rep doesnt mean anything. It is still a "weighted" exercise (via body weight) and any type of weight training should not be done to the same muscles on consecutive days.

Walking is cardio, so yes you can walk every day. You can actually build chest muscle from push-ups so you are not comparing apples to apples here.

To the original poster: Do them every other day at the most.
 
you guys are confusing me lol i don't know who to listen to =P
I started doing them everyday for about 3 days now and it feels fine I'm not sore or anything and it is just push ups i upped it to 200 a day now tho

I dont agree with the last guy... you're a young guy... do them every day if u want it wont have any negative impact. Its fine.

Alternatviely you could do one day with pushups and the next with pullups/chinups and then back to pushups next day....
 
yea imma just keep doing them everyday for the next month then compare and see which one benefited me more. Thanks for the help guys:beerchug:

Most people suggest a 24 hrs resting period after muscle building exercises, simply because when you exercise, you wear down the muscle tissues and they'll need time to regenerate (i.e. grow, strengthen).

I wonder if you are doing the push-ups correctly, I mean slowly and in a controlled way, down 1-2-3, wait for half a sec., up 1-2-3, with your butt not sticking out? In what set? 20 times 10, 10X20, in like 30 minutes, an hour or what?

I know people who do 1000 every day, thinking they could qualify for a NAVY SEAL boot camp, but their push-ups are nothing more than trunk swings. Form is very important so that you don't delude yourself.
 
Where are all these push-ups leading to? What is the difference with an obese guy who sees a slim model on an abs gizmo and decides to buy one as the ad promises a six-pack in 6 weeks?

Even with body-weight training you have got to do a variety of exercises not only the perfect pushup.
