Your workout?

What type of workout do you do? Full body workouts? splits? Interval weight training?
Which do you find more effective to build muscle? To lose weight?

I do a full body workout 3 times per week and from what i've been reading that it is good for beginners like myself and i find it very effective. If you do a bit of searching you will find the answers to all those questions. Just might have to dig deep but there is loads of excellent information on these forums!

Personally, I do a push/pull split, with legs 3 time a week, so I'm in the gym 4 times a week, plus tennis training twice a week.

I do a 4 day split: back and traps, chest and biceps, legs, and shoulders and triceps. I try to hit 12-15 sets for the major body parts and 8-9 sets for the smaller ones.

I do more of a body part split, but it varies, sometimes multiple groups will be incorporated at times. I try to make sure i work out the majority of muscles more than once a week, even if tis just an exercise that only works it a little bit.

everytime I try to do a full body workout, it takes forever (over an hour and a half), so I stick to a split
If its taking you forever, then you probably have too many exercises for each muscle group and some of those may not be as effective as others so you might want to get rid of them completely

I am doing NROL and loving it.

I am currently in Hypertrophy II and seeing excellent gains. HII is 3 workouts-sort of like an upper/lower split.

Upper/Lower ftw indeed.

I disagree with the "if a fbw takes more than an hour something is wrong"

It takes me about an hour to really hit just an upper/lower. If I was on the "offseason"...meaning I didn't have to do anything but lift, eat, and sleep, it would take me closer to two hours a session.

Some people can handle more volume than others, because they are more advanced. The "hour" rule does not apply to everyone.

Agreed. My upper workouts have been lasting more than an hour, usually 70-80min only because i do more sets and more volume.

How do you know how much volume you need? I'm usually in the gym for an hour, including 20 min cardio, so my lifting is never more than 30-40 min.
