Do you take a seperate day to do abs or compile them into your regular routine?

Do you split your abdominal workouts into a different day than your other ones?

Just a question I had as my workouts seem to take very long if I integrate them into my routine. I was wondering if I should split the Abdominal workouts into another day. Any input?

Thanks very much,

What kind of routine are you doing? I include ab exercises in my lower body workouts.

I have a 3- Day split routine. I do one day Arms, One Legs and the last chest/shoulders. Normally I've been doing abs in every workout.

I dont have a separate Ab Core day. I treat the Ab core as a functional blend of a FBW, and will vary the Ab core between upper and lower days for a variation to keep my body guessing and adapting. I tend to do exercises that indirectly work the ab core first (dont want them taxed prior to the big movement lifts) before hitting them directly. Every 3-4 weeks, I take a break and do not do Ab core work at all.

ROCK ON!

Best wishes to you!

I never "work" my abs. They get plenty of work with my style of training. I can't tell you the last time I even did a crunch. If you're doing functional movements you usually can't avoid them. I don't do split routines anyway, so I guess that biases my answer.

I decided to go this route a few months ago. I haven't noticed my abs suffering for it.

After Cardio (every day)I have divided my weight training exercises in three days. Day 1 Chest and Back, Day 2 Biceps and Shoulders, Day 3 Back and Triceps.

I work on abs when i am feeling some energy left after the regular routine any day

Normally, I'd incorporate it with legs. The most I would work my abs ever would be 3 times a week. They need to rest like every other muscle group. Now I do circuits that include abs since I'm trying to cut up.

I like to split my abs into two different days. I do the abdominals one day, the obliques and transvers abs the next. I include my back extensors in my back and or leg days.
