What to eat after cardio?

Ssup Ya'll.

Got a question. I workout 4 to 5 times a week. 3 of those days would be weight training and 30 to 45 mins of cardio afterwards. I would eat a sufficient amount of carbs and protein 2hrs before the workout, whey between the weight training and cardio, and maybe some fruits and nuts after the cardio. Sometimes nothing at all.

On days when I don't do weight training, I would be doing ONLY cardio for 1 hr. Again, I will eat a sufficient amount of carbs and protein 2 hrs before my run, but what do i eat afterwards? And when do I eat this? Keeping in mind that my primary goal is to 1. lose weight and 2. gain lean muscles, in this order.

Also, should I take whey on rest days too? Howabout when I only do cardio, when and should I be taking whey at all? Again, my main goal is to lose weight..and second is to gain muscles. Reason being, I'm short and I'm trying to stay away from that buff and stumpy look. I gotta lose around 9 kgs btw.

Thanks!!!!

I'm only going to tackle a small part of the question...

Whey is one of the truly best and worthy supplements out there, but stay away from it except as pre and post workout nutrition. If you take whey shakes at other times, given it's high protein content, you will be getting far too large a percentage of your protein from this very "fast" protein powder, rather than whole foods. Due to it's fast gastric emptying and absorbtion, whey protein is not really adding a thermogenic quality that you get from, say, tuna, chicken, etc.

And don't forget your good fats!
