Lift, Train, Fitness

Now feeling very sore and may have hurt my shoulder, little miss is super strong and had a major meltdown this arvo, oh well we soldier on AusPatriot.gif

I hope your shoulder is ok. Not surprised your girl should be super strong though!

Your gym is looking really good, Tru & looks like a great playground for little miss almost 3. Our youngest used to get very frustrated & have major meltdowns. I used to read Angry Arthur to our sons. R's meltdowns were like his- huge!

She was over tired and lost the plot in Bunning when I would not let her play in the water of the fountain display, ended up carrying her in one hand while pushing a trolley with a mind of its own to get the last item I needed, before struggling through the checkout still using only one hand. Then Came the fight to get her into the car seat and strapped in before she screamed all the way home.

When I say No i mean it, if I don't back up what I say she will never learn that you cannot get your own way all the time and I don't care if people stare, all kids have meltdowns at times

I am out of practice lol, Son 3 had far worse meltdowns with his ASD and ADHD, on more than one occasion I found myself sitting in the middle of a school playground for hours struggling to hold him till he ran out of energy to fight and was able to get him safely to the car to take him home.

Little miss loves the Hairy Maclary books and "The Very Cranky Bear" but then she like almost all books not just her favourites.

Shoulder is feeling much better this morning.

Aw your little girl is so cute . That’s an impressive set up you have got there . My son would love it

I am continually adding to it, When I am finished my Uni studies the plan is to run my private coaching from home. It will eventually need to have the gutters and water tank on the shed replaced so the bathroom and kitchen become functional again before having clients in the shed.

Feeling really cranky today but have managed some gardening with little miss

garden stuff is detailed in the garden club thread.

I hate the heat, so back to sitting in front of the AC watching the the Aus V NZ one day game on the TV and later watching the Eels V Storm in the NRL finals, unfortunately I did not win any tickets to the game, but I tried lol

Finally cooled down enough to transplant the wormwood into the garden and refresh the mulch covering.

I ate some trail mix that D got me but have had a reaction :( itch, headache and my throat closing up a little, it may have been the small amount of white chocolate chips in the mix.

Food allergies are super annoying even at normal levels. Reacting to trace amounts of things that aren´t even marked on the packaging must be brutal.

Spent most of the morning on study, followed by packing up my hiking gear ready for Monday morning, Just need to add fresh veg on Sunday evening and partially freeze for the overnight meal. I would estimate it all comes in at under 15kg not including water. I may invest in some hiking poles before I go but that will be minimal added weight for the benefit of making the hiking easier on my arthritic hips.

Now I need to go hit the gym.

Sounds like you have had a very productive day, Tru. I have forgotten how long the hike is.

The trip is a full day of hiking, camp then a full day of sea kayaking back, or possibly the reverse order, I don't know which group I am in till that morning. terrain is rainforest over sand dunes, everything that is carried in must be carried out.

It is about 12 km by water, the hike is 17 km

Ok I was a terrible judge of weight, just chucked everything into a basket on the bathroom scales, came in a 9.5 kg including half my water, so when I fill my water bladder should bring it up to 11.5 kg and lighter on the second day because carrying drinking water for 2 days is heavy.

Your hips are going to be grateful for the difference in weight. It sounds like a wonderful trip though!

My spices and herbs packed into drinking straws to spice up my evening camp meal, protein will be dehydrated mince beef stir fried with fresh Veg which I will cut up and toss in the freezer on Sunday night. A lot of my stuff has been vacuum packed to save space and to protect from water in case of a kayak capsize or tropical rain storm, including dry clothes. Then packed in dry bags. We have been told we should be using the university packs to make equipment change over easier between groups on day 2. Snacks/lunch that have been packed include, Home made Biltong, Pistachios, Trail mix and dehydrated apple. Breakfast day 2 will likely be a a cup of tea as I find it hard to force myself to eat breakfast.

Sounds like gourmet hiking!
