I LOL-ed at this. Skinny people's problemsI have some new problems, like having such a skinny bottom that sitting is no long real comfortable. And it sure is easier to get cold, thankfully summer is here so not too much opportunity right now. I am sure I'll adjust, just takes a little time.
I did get one of those cushions, it helps. No I don't track omegas, I am new to tracking anything other than calories. But I do know the omega fats are best, should be getting some of them in the fish I eat. I will look into how to track.that made me smile--you'll have to start carrying a cushion around!
Does your app show what to aim for in terms of omegas? i know I'm often falling short on that...
Thanks Cate, and I know you are on your way to losing some bottom, hope the experience is a bit more comfortable than mine! I am sure I will adjust to both bottom and temp with time.I would love to go back to hardly having a bottom. Your body will adjust with the cold. It took me a whole winter though.
Thanks LaMa, I am looking forward to the "muscle cushion", hope that happens! Yeah I thought the soda thing was really strange, I think it was just experimental to see if they could make it work. I believe they did add a little oil to either Pepsi or Mountain Dew, or both for a little while, but not long.Once your calories go up high enough you'll be building a muscle cushionI fully agree with you oil chemist friend where salty snacks are concerned, but soda???
Yes, "skinny" problems are quite new to me! I have literally lost my ass, hopefully working those muscles will bring a little of it back.I LOL-ed at this. Skinny people's problems
I think maybe it helps if you work your ass muscles.
Yes, but not my exercise. I was doing ~60 min at the gym and then walking. Since it has gotten hot I don't walk much. I am not sure my exercise is any more than it was. A little maybe, but not a lot.I think you´ve been increasing your gym time lately?
Me too . If you could bottle it and post us Irish ladies a bottle each !!Squats are your friend Rob to get that booty juicy!
Can’t believe you lost another 4 pounds, can you give me some of that weight loss magic please?
Maybe my exercise is up, but probably not a lot. Its kind of a mystery, I'll see what happens next week.Maybe, but I get the impression you work pretty hard at the gym while your walks sounded pretty relaxed lately?
No magic to weight loss, you know how its done, you have done it before. The hard part is turning that switch in your head that get you to do it, and I have no good way to tell anyone else how to make that happen, I have no idea why it worked for me this time.can you give me some of that weight loss magic please?
Wish I could, I'd send it to you Irish Ladies, Cate and whoever else wanted it! LOL, thanks for the congrats Petal, although I never thought I would say it I am getting a bit jaded about losing weight, not as exciting as it once was. Still I am happy to be losing and not gaining. Oh, and I think it was you who first suggested the switch in the brain thing to me Petal, a good concept. If you could bottle it and post us Irish ladies a bottle each !!
Never imagined so many lovely ladies would be interested in my derriere, a real first for me. Though its not the kind of interest I would have chosen! How does all this attention on your derriere make you feel, Rob?
I love that your knees got so much better. And better strength and coordination will improve them further.I am sure you are right about the squats. I do a lot of them, but not as deeply or low as I should. My knees used to keep me from doing that, but they are better now so I have no excuse...
Thanks LaMa, don't want to overstate the knees they are still arthritic, but with the exercise I am better able to work with them and have less pain. Squats are getting better and easier.I love that your knees got so much better. And better strength and coordination will improve them further.
Maybe, but over 2,000 calories seem to much. I will increase soon to find out. My trainer wants me to do it slowly and then gain some of the weight back as muscle. Don't know if that will happen, but we'll see. I don't need to be a body builder, just to feel better and be healthier.Hope you can figure out your way to maintenance Rob. You probably just have quite a ways to go to close that deficit gap--i just looked it up and I see that a man over 50 would need about 2100 calories if not active and 2400-2800 calories if active--so a ways to go yet! That would explain the continued weight loss...
Thanks Cate! What LaMa & Liza said
Hey Jack, good to see you! And I am trying to throw out an anchor, but slowly. It will catch soon.161 lbs?? Good lord, somebody stop this man![]()
What your trainer said is pretty much the definition of bodybuildingMy trainer wants me to do it slowly and then gain some of the weight back as muscle. Don't know if that will happen, but we'll see. I don't need to be a body builder, just to feel better and be healthier.
That sounds like a good goal.I don't need to be a body builder, just to feel better and be healthier
I suppose that is true, I do have some desire to get lost muscle back, but I'm not aiming for the Arnold Schwarzenegger look. I do have some sagging skin that I may be able to fill with a few muscles, but I know that will be limited. I guess I have always liked the look of normal people best, both men and women, not the extremes. I am happy to look normal and maybe fit. What your trainer said is pretty much the definition of bodybuildingJust saying...
Thanks Petal, and I agree bringing it up slowly is what I am trying to do. I committed to this 1,500 calorie limit for 3 weeks, that ends Wednesday, at that point I may make a change. The only thing that would make me reconsider is regaining weight. I don't think I will lose any more, but I don't think I will gain either (by Wednesday).I don't have much to add but I agree with Liza about why you are still losing weight . You still in a calorie deficit. I think bringing it up slowly is a good idea. It's where we all make mistakes before losing the weight then back to the old ways .
Thanks Liza, I think that is pretty close to most folk's goal. That sounds like a good goal.
