Cate's Diary

We have borrowed a young ram from one of our neighbours, with the hope of getting some more lambs. Our 12 ewes & wethers checked him out & he walked off towards the bush. About 15 minutes later I saw our ewes running across the paddock & I expected to see the ram chasing them, but, no, it was the opposite. He was in full flight & the ewes were chasing him.
Brings to mind a Monty Python scene from the Meaning of Life
Enjoy the golf!

I'm sorry that you have Asthma, Cate. I high-level googled what you could do (which you have probably already done), and it says keeping the AC on and covering mouth/nose when outside may help but it's just staying away from triggers mainly + meds.

Hopefully weather changes soon, have a good time golfing! It's so nice that you can get out and do that.

Great to hear the golf is back on Cate , seems life is getting back to a new normality there.
I'm a hugger with people I like but funnily no one else in my immediate family is. Those days are gone . Funny my husband met someone the other day and they both forgot rules and shook hands . They had sanitizer though after .
Can't wait to hear how many lambs you get.

Rob- I had totally forgotten about that scene! Crazy Pythons. I did enjoy golf, thanks, Rob.
Misty- My Asthma is usually under control with meds, but it's just the foggy nights in Winter. It usually lifts early.
Liza- It was lovely having a hit with K. She is so nice.
LaMa- Yay for drugs indeed.
Petal- Life is far from normal & golf has been one thing they just can't make their minds up about. At the moment it's up to the clubs, but no comps are allowed & only social golf, only 2 people on each hole at the same time, no socialising afterwards etc. We didn't have any contact, but I didn't have a golf glove in my bag so touched a few things like a gate & a door (to put my bag & buggy away). I had hand sanitizer with me, but I'll find my glove & make sure I take it next time. I decided to leave my clubs in the buggy room as I want to go have a hit more often now.
Em- It was a nice start to the month. I'll try to go out of a hit a couple of times a week as I'm very rusty.

Sheep update-
They have buddied up, but we are now missing another one. G & I are going to go searching today. This is such a mystery!

Mystery missing sheep? Have earlier missing sheep come back to the fold? If not... well, I hope they do! The straying ewes and lambs that I met the other evening are all safely back in their proper paddock.

That's lovely news, about you having a pleasant social round with a good friend. :)
A friend is planning to come calling sometime this weekend, which I'm glad about, because of picking up social threads when I've been away so long, but also mildly apprehensive about, because he's prone to enjoying arguments, and we don't often see eye to eye - he's one of the men who was miffed when I said I wouldn't hug him in this virus-ridden time.

Sheep update-
They have buddied up, but we are now missing another one.
Reminds me of a book I read as a child about a kid called... Tula? There was a sheep thief who ended up repenting and bringing back the sheep but I can't remember why. It was a mixture of a "normal" story, aboriginal myths, and some almost dream-state stuff and I never really understood the sheep thief part.

Golf definitely seems like one of the easier sports to keep some distance. And very good to get outdoors and enjoy good exercise so I'm glad you're able to get out there Cate.
Interesting about the sheep. Hope all gets sorted and that they haven't run into any sort of trouble!

Hi, Amy, Liza, LaMa & Misty. It's a bit perplexing about what has happened to our sheep. I can't find any evidence of foul play, but they are well & truly missing.
G & I walked all over the block so got a good walk in. I'm meeting up with my neighbour at 4 pm for a drink & will walk over there. It's warmer in her gazebo, rather than at our fenceline. Next week she'll come up to our verandah & after that, she moves.

Liza- It was lovely having a hit with K. She is so nice.
LaMa- Yay for drugs indeed.

Lol Cate - reading these two sentences out of context puts a different spin on things! :D

A friend of mine is actually moving this weekend LaMa - she said under normal circumstances, she probably wouldn't have got the place she's moving into cos demand is too high. So it makes sense in a way.

Weird about the sheep Cate. Maybe it's the neighbour? Just kidding, haha.

When I was following the ewes and lambs along the road (not really "following", but of course they skittered off away as they saw me coming) a blue sedan passedme twice ont he road, and I noted it carefully, in case it was someone not local looking for some weekend barbecue. :(

Whenever I can't find something in the office, I think - someone must have stolen it! Oddly enough, though, it always turns out I've misplaced it. Not saying you misplaced the sheep, obviously!

You lot are very amusing! :D
I have searched all over the property but didn't think to check under the sofa cushions :svengo:
Our neighbour sold her house just before all this. I'm sure she would have waited until later otherwise. She's feeling a bit sad about moving as she's going from 65 acres in the bush to a unit in the middle of town.
I haven't got my head around a plan for May at all. April didn't seem to work that well. I eat really healthily all the time, to be honest, & am exercising every day by mainly walking & I will be playing golf again, but not competitions. It's the same old story with me. I love good food & I love wine. Maybe I should start logging my food again. Maybe I'm not in the mood to worry about it too much. What I should do is get on the scales a few times a week every week. I hate the scales. They affect my mood too much. Maybe I'm really an ostrich. I feel quite happy though & have been stressing a lot less.

Happiness and less stress are totally the important things! I agree.
It's great you are continuing to eat well and get good exercise.
