I had a great day today. I saw a new doctor who I think will be a good fit for me. He seems quite attentive, knowledgeable and willing to help me with my concerns and goals. First visit and it was beyond a simple checklist and review of systems. He understood right away the work I've put in and the significance of what I've accomplished so far and he was complementary and encouraging. His nurse assistant has lost a lot of weight after bariatric surgery. She has struggled a lot with maintenance but was very encouraging and warm.
I ran 7 miles and walked 4. I've been stopping about halfway through my runs and walks to stretch a little. I stretch very little before I start anything, then I walk a couple miles, then stretch some, run the first few miles or so, stretch more, walk again, sometimes stretch again, then finish the run, and then stretch. I'm able to walk and run faster and it feels great and gives me a more rewarding workout. The increase in speed may also be due to the weight loss too of course.
When I was at the gym, a guy came up to me and complemented me on how good I looked and asked how much weight I've lost. He said a few more encouraging things and mentioned both he and his wife had noticed the work I've been doing. It was very nice and the first time that's happened to me. I thanked him and talked a little bit about how much work it's been. I felt really good afterwards.
I think a bug is incubating right now. I had a very slight sore throat last night which I forgot about today but it came back tonight. Drinking lots of water and resting.
2700 calories in, 5229 out according to my Fitbit.
Another great part of the day was that my weight was 200.6 this morning. I'm getting there!
