Rebel's Diary

Pho is derived from the French "pot au feu" as far as I know. Dry-roasted Shirataki noodles may be a alternative as they have no carbs but not everyone likes them.
Yea Vietnam has a big french influence. I have heard even their alphabet consist of French letter rather than the oriental picture type script. Not possitive though.

There are bunces of whole weat pastas so I have options.

I forgot to eat for the most part today. I made breakfast and then got lost in school stuff. I have a 500 and a 1000 word essay due tomorrow night so been doing some research.

Food...

Breakfast- 1 german pancake. (658 Calories)

Cut oma's recipe way back. It ended up being 3 eggs, 15g flour, 7g sugar, 1/2 cup of milk and a little vanilla. The original didn't have sugar but I try to stay away from syrups..it was pretty good all the same.

Lunch- (0 Calories)

Dinner- L.C. tortilla with peanut butter and banana, 8oz 2% milk. (626 Calories)

Just something quick at 3am.

I think it's great that you altered that recipe to fit your needs. I think we all have food that we have a nostalgic/emotional connection to that would be very hard to completely give up and oma's pancake recipe is a great example of that.

German food isn't known to be figure friendly. I seem to be altering the recipes constantly. It always turns out pretty good but ohhh not the same.

I'm from the South and struggle a lot with traditional Southern recipes, so I know exactly what you mean. Diet friendly chicken and dumplings is NOT the same as the regular recipe.

It's the same here in Texas. From mexican to BBQ It's a struggle to healthy things up at times. You take a food and try to make it more calorie or carb friendly while still keeping it mostly the same. It can get interesting at times.

Most "traditional" foods used to be feast foods, where people would use the richest ingredients they could get their hands on. They´re fine once a month or so - or even once a week when you otherwise don´t have a lot of food luxuries, but not when you can suddenly afford them every day. My 90-year-olds tend to come from relatively affluent families, but they only ate meat meals once or twice a week when they were young (even before the war).

Yea I can see that. Most meals today would be considered a feast to those that don't have that luxury.

Well I made a 100 on both essays. Then the instructor informed me that he made a mistake and they could have been double spaced....ugg I only needed about 250 and 500 words.....oh well.

Couldn't sleep this morning and ended up at a cafe about 5 am. I should be about 2000 calories give or take.

Breakfast was sirloin tips with 3 fried eggs, half a piece of toast, 2 whole grain pancakes with sugar free syrup.

Then dinner was a bowl of mixed fruit from the grocery store. It was pineapple, grapes, honeydew melon, cantelope.

I cooked about 12 chicken wings. I'll debone them eventually and prob use the meat in wraps or something.

Worst day that I have had in awhile..
( check )

Went to panera this afternoon for a salad.
Just b4 I got to a table I turned for some reason and the loudest pop came from my knee. It was loud enough every one seated around me heard it. Then the pain hit wow...
I didn't think much about it struggled through the pain and ate. Went to leave and I couldn't walk and the pain before was nothing compared to when I put pressure on it. Called Gael and she took me to the hospital and yup only I could tear my ACL walking to a table. Restaurant manager was nice enough to tow my motorcycle home for me so thats at least something.

So breakfast was about noon and my son mixed me up a protein shake arout 7pm and dinner will be sleep.. Maybe a bigger breakfast tomorrow if I feel up to it...ugggg

Downloaded cronometer to give it a try. Its pretty good so far other than it list my calorie goal a little smaller and it doesn't break food into groups like breakfast lunch ..... And restaurant list seems smaller..

But

Interface seems less cluttered than MFP and it does net carbs for me so well see.

Not sure, I have an appt with an orthopaedic on monday...prob not if i have a choice. Had a back surgery years ago and my back has never been the same, so I'm going to avoid it if I can.

You're NOT the first person to tear their ACL just walking around; usually means it'd been fraying for a while. Best of luck with rehab.
