Rebel's Diary

I hope it was deliciously satisfying.
Yea it was really good

Well I've caught up (mostly)!!
You've had an absolutely fantastic first few months in your weight loss journey, amazing loss so far!
It's also great that you know your triggers and when to seek support when your mental health takes a turn for the worse.
There are a lot of people in this world that could do with an attitude like yours, both for your mental and physical health.

Great news about the BP meds too!

My diary is just a lot of emotional ups and downs. It's been an interesting year.
My foods use to be just typical American foods. Hamburgers, hotdogs, mac n cheese. Just normal everyday stuff. Now I love things like Chinese and Italian. Really just anything from across the pond. It really doesn't matter which pond as long as it's different. Of course foods like the German and Irish foods as well as the others tend to b carby so I try my best to have healthier versions of those. Or at least I do my best.
I think you're doing a great job Rebel :)

Good to hear that you're enjoying new foods as well as improving your health! I'm really into Thai food at the moment, really fresh and flavoursome and usually quite nutritious too.

Wow you must really like to read. Next book report on war and peace im gonna look you up LOL.
The weight loss has been pretty easy. I guess because i really don't consider myself as being on a "diet". The ladies on here told me about some of the health foods they like to eat. Then i started exploring more vegan and vegetarian foods. So i just totally revamped the type of foods i eat.
The mental health thing is just a repetitive action. I remember what it felt like before i would be put in a hospital and now i can tell the difference between bad and really bad.
The blood pressure is really much better. I just didnt think about when i lost a good bit of weight my meds would suddenly be too strong. I checked my pressure today and it was 99/80 so one of the pills i take may still be abit strong.

I have had pad thai and thought it was really good. Since i really try and stay away from pasta i dont see any thai dishes in my future. Maybe some thai flavor influenced tofu might be good.

Since you enjoy cooking (sometimes) maybe you could cook your own? There are some great low-carb pasta alternatives out there. I haven´t tried shirataki noodles but apparently they´re an awesome substitute. I have tried 100% legume pasta though, and I like it. I know you worry about carbs but the ones you get from legumes are so much more slow acting that I wouldn´t expect trouble (consult with doctor and such legally sensible advice), plus the protein in them make you full quicker. I don´t know how available these things are near where you live but I´m sure you´ll find something.

I just mostly try to stay away from white flour so it something i can live with

I noticed your dabble with kale and tofu haha
I love a tofu katsu curry but it's quite a sweet source so quote carb although I'm sure a homemade one would be better than the supermarket rubbish I buy!

I normally bake it. I put it in a marinade for a few hours. The texture of tofu i had to get use to

Kale i love but i just havent bought any in awhile. Since tofu isnt a real food it last for a long time. Probably grab 3 or 4 blocks of it tomorrow.
Might even grab one or two veggies that i have no idea what they are. Never met a veggie i didnt like.

Variety can only be a good thing. I'll be taking some gift cards I got from a client to the main local health food store tomorrow so I'll probably be looking for fresh ideas as well.

I dont go to the health food store too often. Their prices are just unreal. Hope you find some goodies there.

Me neither, especially because the quality usually isn´t better than in regular stores. Got 120€ worth of gift cards though and I don´t want them to go to waste :) Chia seeds, cacao nibs, nuts, high-quality frozen meat: stuff that´s expensive anyway and lasts me a while.

Free is always good

Yup. Much rather get gift cards for the health food store than for... I dunno, Lindt or something.
