Lift, Train, Fitness

The weather sounds absolutely horrendous. As the others have said - your safety is the most important thing.
Did you cancel your trip for the scan. I would have worried about venturing out in that weather.
If you did go - I hope all was well.:hug2:

made it for the scan although I was lucky my scan was a morning appointment as they sent all staff home in the afternoon for safety reasons. our place handled the wind mostly without incident, the new half built peafowl breeding enclosure was blown over and the old pen was blown open but no real harm done, I think there is still one man missing in our region, I think they are looking for his body in the floodwaters. flooding reached about 11.5 metres (37.7 ft) so not a bad flood with only a few roads cut.

scan result were perfect, dating by scan matched perfectly with calculated dates, heart-rate was 170 beats and the photo I have is very clear

I however have been super sick, vomiting between 3-5 times a day, have an appointment with my Docs temp today, want her to prescribe something for this sickness as I cannot function even close to normal. I have been eating crap in an effort to find something that will not make the return journey

have just take my first dose of anti nausea meds, I have 2 types, one to take 3 times per day and another one to take only if I get hit by an extreme bout.

hoping it works.

It is brilliant news that the scan was good.
Its great too that you stayed safe through those floods.

I'm sorry about the nausea - hopefully the meds will help soon.
Don't worry about the storm damage - just look after yourself while you feel so unwell.

my throat is raw from the stomach acid and vomiting this morning, not as sick today but not good either.

made it in to the gym this morning just to check in, being sick and on doc orders for no exercise is NOT GOOD, the longer this vomiting and nausea goes on the more run down I feel.

If I can concentrate later I need to sit down an re write some training programs.

Any kind of movement which doesn´t make you feel sick and would be allowed? Walking or the stationary bike (I know, you´re not a cardio bunny, but anything is better than nothing) perhaps?

I'm so happy that the scan was good, but I really hope the doc can help you with the nausea. Throwing up like that can become really dangerous.

less vomiting today, however I have slept most of the day. I have been having a fair bit of soup which I cook in my crock-pot, anything to keep my fluids and nutrients up with the hope of having some of it absorb between vomiting sessions.

exercise bike etc. is also out, I am considered high risk and doc is taking no chances, the most walking I will be doing is Saturday at work if I am up to going, there is nobody to take my place, however I have asked if the sports association can get a young volunteer who would like to learn to help me out so they can learn the basics of assessing and treating patients injuries while doing a lot of the leg work of lifting and carrying the stretcher. Most of what I do is not difficult but is the result of a lot of training and many years of experience. The basics of strapping can be taught to anybody but it takes a lot of practice to be good at it and learning advanced strapping for unusual injuries takes years of learning and practice. on field injury assessment takes time to build up confidence in your training.

When I first started in sports medicine I was that volunteer doing the lifting and carrying before doing the study required to be the senior person on duty. the key requirements for doing this is the ability to learn and adapt to unusual situations and you must not have a weak stomach for blood or limbs which are sitting out of place at weird angles (eg. foot facing the wrong way after a broken leg)

The other young lady who works alternate shift to me has taken a long time to build confidence and is yet to earn the trust of many players who will specifically ask which shift I am working so I can take care of their injury prevention pre game. The young lady is improving and being on the front line of injury assessment and management has helped her nursing studies.

I understand the doc being cautious, especially when you´re feeling sick as much as you are and need to conserve your energy, but... O I don´t have to spell it out, I´m sure you´re thinking the same things (only more so). I hope you feel good on Saturday and get some competent youngster who´s eager to get some experience under their belt.

I hope you get a youngster to help and are well enough to do your shift.

At the end of the day your health has to come first - and if you are not well enough for your shift the players will just have to get used to dealing with anyone else on duty.

Its hopeful that you are vomiting a little less - I hope that the improvement continues.

Personal exercise and weight control has to be the last thing on your mind while you are feeling so ill. You are right to meticulously follow all doctors orders.

made it through last Saturday but the other sports trainer on the other shift may be giving up due to the abuse from players, the same players who would not even think to step out of line with me. Could be because of age or could be because it well known I will not tolerate crap from anybody including having them loose competition points for their team if I have to take it to a higher authority.

still puking but not as much, 10 weeks today.

It sounds like the anti nausea meds are kicking in at last...

Someone in authority should read these players the riot act about the way they behave towards the other trainer...
It is in everyone's interest that they treat her with greater respect... As things stand they would be stuffed if you didn't pick up the slack and you have more important things to focus on.

The problem is a lot of internal politics which happens in small town clubs and organisations, a lot of he said she said :( If I was to be there to witness what is happening it wouldn't happen.

As a neutral person as far as internal and external club politics is concerned I get to hear the bitching from all sides, I refuse to be placed in committee positions because I hate dealing with crap, I need to stay neutral in order to be able to treat all players equally without bias.

I have already vomited this morning but hopefully the nausea will hold of for a while now. I need to head into the gym this morning to meet a new lady interested in taking up powerlifting.

the gym session with the lady went super well, It is great to see the elderly getting into non traditional sports :)

this weekend has been good, introduce 4 friends to AD&D and had an awesome Sunday evening.

still struggling with nausea but eating fish helps, medication is not helping much. The worst part is the bad taste I always have in my mouth. Discovered I have developed a sensitivity to the smell of meat pies this arvo when son cooked one for an afternoon snack

So far so good, I have not vomited yet this morning :hurray:

I am 11 +2 today super hoping this is the first sign of the nausea subsiding. it will make work tomorrow easier.
