sore and bench press

Ok I have 2 questions
1. I'm doing a muscle per day workouts, I was wondering if we're supposed to be sore right after the workout or do you get sore the day it?

2. For bench pressing with BB if the bar dosen't go all the way down to the chest, would that be bad technique and you wont see any results?

Muscle a day workouts are largely inefficient, don't do them.

If you choose to continue doing them, well, that's your perogative.

Soreness generally sets in the next day or many hours later the same day.

and for the love of god, bring the bar all the way down to your chest. Also, I'd recommend you to read the technique articles sticky (read the link) they will help your technique.

partial reps (not going all the way to the chest) is ok occassionally for working thru specific sticking points...but if you regularly do this, you'll actually create sticking points...weak parts of the movement, and that could lead to injury.

FULL ROM all the time. adjust your grip width if you need to. I actually mostly use dumbbells for bench pressing due to an even better ROM.

Also, since you don't seem to know much about training, you're not ready for 'one muscle group a day' training. I'd suggest you look at full body workouts for a while and focus on some core compound exercises, then slowly branch out to upper/lower split, push/pull split, or push/pull/leg split.

I always bring bar to chest, i just dont lock my arms with some sets, it seems to keep pressure on my chest. With DB press i make sure my arms come as far back as possible to stretch the **** outta me chest :)
