weights

well hello, it has been a while sence my last post, i've made some improvement, if you dont remember me, I was the on who posted about needing to gain weight. Well, I've put on about 10 lbs {not what I was hoping but its something} It seems like i am constantly full but never seem to gain any weight. About now I dont care if its fat or muscle. I scarf down like half a pizza {deep dish} every third day, which is when my family eats pizza. And when we arnt having pizza it seems like im always eating a good amount. My question is "Why am I not gaining any weight?". I've been thinking about getting some exersize equipment, I have plain weights anymore, but it seems those arnt realy enough. I am wondering two things I guess. 1. Why am I not gaining weight? 2. What is a good machine for working out upper and lower body? Oh btw I am now about 125 lbs, about 6-8 months ago {dont remember realy} I was about 115. And I'm 5'9"

I say, it depends on your goals. What type of lifting do you want to do for what type of goals. I workout for strength using my bodyweight on a pull up station/dips/pushups stand. Works great for me.

are you keeping track of what you're eating? the most common mistake is to "assume" you're eating enough. if you're not gaining weight, you're simply not eating enough.

Also how old are you? Your body may just be a furnace right now. Get more protein and carbs in. Those fats will only hinder your goals in the end. Start lifting heavy weight often. Once you start lifting you should gain, but you need to be on a program. Not some pish posh schedule where you lift here and there and don't really know what you are doing.

From what i understand... pizza, as well as a million other wicked tasting foods that we all crave... are pure fat and carbs... both of which do nothing except either fuel the body or go straight to the hips (and store as bad fats... thus hardening your arteries and causing a heart attack! Havent you heard of those super fit looking guys who drop dead cuz their arteries were screwed?). Anyways... I dont know how old you are or what your daily routine is like.... do you burn energy all day by playing sports, cycling to and from, chasing your girlfriend... whatever. If you do stay pretty active... chances are your metabolism is firing super hot. What I mean is... your eating every two or three hours causes your metabolism to speed up, combine this with activity and it all gets burned off... dont forget... when you eat, the body burns calories just digesting the food... ever seen a fat man sweating like crazing after eating? His body is working hard to digest the food. Anyways... I suggest you either up your calorie intake by adding 1 or even 2 cans of tuna a day (100 grms protein each and if your 130 lbs-ish, you only need about 200 grams daily to pack on muscle, or maybe 1 can and a prot. shk, etc. If you keep eating the ****, youll look like ****! You know that saying..."you are what you eat"? Guess what... every 10 weeks approx, your body pretty much replaces every cell in it and the food you ate 10 weeks ago is the source material of the new cells... hence the saying. I hope i have given you some insight. Lift smart and combine it with eating smart and you will put on about 10-15 lbs each year.... that adds up to 30 lbs in 2 years, 60 in about 5... 80 in about 7... its possible you may gain a whole lot more than that but thats about right. It depends on your body type. Some guys can walk past a stack of weights and gain a pound.

LoL point taken Scott, but im only 15, and last time I herd there arnt many 15 year olds who have heart attacks. But I do understand were your coming from. BUT the thing is I dont realy do much of anything, I am home-schooled, and am waiting to take my GED. Of course, its not always deep-dish {not that it makes it any better}. But thats not realy the point anyways, I can resist pizza, my problem doesnt realy envolve resisting urges to eat things{even though i do eat a lot}, its just knowing what to eat, and what to get for exersize equipment. I am thinking about getting a bench w\ my B-day money, but then I would need something to work out the lower body and abdomin. What type of equipment is good for that? Trying to think of a way to wrap this up, well I guess in conclusion, I dont realy get to much of a choice on what I eat for dinner, it is basicly whatever is made you either eat or you dont realy eat. Some cheap recapies would be nice, I saw something refering to recipies in the forums, I'll take a look there. And what is a good way to work out the legs and abdomin? {mostly legs}
