this is my daily workout routine to get in shape for basketball


10 minutes cardio
3 sets of 10 chest (weights)
3 sets of 10 shoulders (weights)
50 situps
3 sets of 20 leg raises

any suggestions on how to make it better
 
You have no leg or back work in there, add squats, deadlifts, rows, dips and chins. Then move your cardio to the end of the workout
 
Don't get on a treadmill and nod off. Basketball is a high intensity sport that requires bursts of energy rather than long distance endurance. You need to train on a basketball court, running sprints back and forth.

Try straight sprints: Sprint 1/4 of the way down the court, jog back, sprint half way down the court, jog back, spring 3/4 of the way down the court, jog back, then sprint all the way down and jog back. Repeat this 10 to 15 times.

Run sideways down the court, alternating which foot comes in front of the other.

Search google for Plyometric exercises, you'll find a lot of good things. Also search google for "Basketball training routines" you should find some good stuff there as well.
