Does anyone have any good powerclean tutorials that youve made yourself or have found on the internet? I want to incorporate them into my workout but want to make sure i have good form. Thanks
yea...so do i. i really want to know that i have great form when donig power cleans. they are such a great exercise. i just wish i had a coach to watch me do it to see if i was doing it right. remember, even if you watch a video many times, doesnt mean that you have perfect form when you actually go to try it. a power clean is one of the technical movements where form is important to keep.
I don't have time to watch teh vids posted. But I have my athletes start with hang jump shrugs. From there we start working down. Then we go to hang cleans.
go into the deadlift position (bar almost touching the ground) and then do a jump shrug/upright row and then end with the bar on your shoulders doing a front squat (elbow bent and wrists back). and then thats one rep..
Bar starts at or near the shins, while the back is straight and the hips are up. Acceleration matters most past the knee, so pulling from the ground does not have a huge speed emphasis. Just control the weight until you pass the knee, then power the hips forward, shrug hard and get under the bar.
