hi. im christi. and this is my fitness diary

Keep some things in the fridge that are pretty good for you. If you've got a way to cook stuff, cook a large batch and keep it in the fridge. When you're hungry, you've got healthy stuff to eat. I always try to keep low fat turkey lunch meat, low fat or skim milk, grilled chicken breast, fruit etc. on hand. When I'm hungry that's what I eat. I used to get a pound of lean ground beef, cook it, drain the fat, add 1 can rotel and then simmer it to boil off the water. I would use that as a filling inside a tortilla. I could add non-fat shredded cheese and salsa and have a quick meal. Eat some of the rice mentioned earlier as a side dish. If you live by yourself you've got the perfect situation. Take advantage of it. Before long you'll be making healthy choices everywhere you go. Good luck, Greg

Christi,
First off, the hair looks good. Second, I've read back through some of your posts and am wondering if you've made your fitness goals known to your friends and family. There was one day when you mentioned your Dad brought you food from your favorite mexican restaurant. Have you discussed with your folks and friends how important this is to you and how you would like their support and encouragement? Maybe if you bring them into the loop they'll be more conscious of what types of food they offer to bring you or more conscious of the places they go with you to eat. It might just be one less distraction from the difficulty of staying on track. I know how difficult it is to get back into the fitness lifestyle. I sat around for more than 5 years feeling sorry for myself, mad that I couldn't work out the way I wanted and eat the way I wanted. I sat around, drank beer probably 3-4 nights per week and ate everything in the house. There were many times I would eat well for 3-4 days but 8-9 beers later I was back on the track to self destruction. 12 days ago, when I heard myself blame someone else for me being overweight and out of shape I pretty much hit rock bottom. I couldn't believe I was letting myself be the victim. At that point I decided I was going to change things. But, I had to get to that low point 1st before I became serious about changing my lifestyle back to what I knew it should be. Just a thought that enlightening those around you might help you stay focused and committed. Keep up the good work and you know we'll support you here no matter what. Good luck girl, keep it going. Greg
P.S. - did you get your workout in today? If so, what did you work and how did you feel?

Thankyou!
I did workout a little bit today...did a bit of jogging, but felt dead afterwards. Asthma kills you, i swear.
Tonight, I'm doing a full body workout. Less cardio, but more strength training. I need to tone up.
As for my family and friends, yes. They know of my diet intentions. My dad diets too, but he's a little bit different than me.
He doesn't eat, and then has one meal that takes up a majority of his calories for the day.
I like to stay healthy. I like to eat, so I can't just..Not.:D

I'm extremely proud of myself right now.
I had the option of going out and eating tasty junk food, or going to the grocery store to buy stuff for homemade chicken noodle soup.
I'm going for the soup.
It's kind of an overcast day, perfect for hot soup. :]

Well done! Yup overcast days are great for soupmaking, especially when you can hang around the house and smell it cooking. I'd suggest getting some bread, preferably a baugette to go with it.

I've tried making chicken soup twice - both times it wasn't what I wanted (edible, but not delicious). But then again I want to make a soup that doesn't rely on boullion or already made stock.

You didn't got to the gym yet??!! What happened to plopping the baby on Andrew and high tailing it outta there?!

Stingo, I did chicken soup from stock last weekend and it was AWESOME! I didn't follow a recipe though. I love making soup and it makes me feel better when I can use an eaten rotisserie chicken dinner to go towards another yummy dinner

Christi-didn't mean to crash your diary :) AWESOME job on the healthy food choice! That must've taken quite the determination to go out to get ingredients instead of choose the more convenient (and yummy) option :)
Sounds like you are having a great workout day too! You go girl!

I'll do a real nice update for you guys tonight, in full. workout included.
I was kinda naughty at lunch. I had some sprite and a slice of pizza, due to the fact that it's all I could afford. I had like a dollar. :[
Right now I'm making my dinner.
It's funny, I remember looking in the fridge and going, omg, theres no food. But then i looked, and i have healthy foods.
I'm making chicken and rice to take for lunch tomorrow at work.
and tonight I'm making some potatoes and ground beef [which i'll drain the fat out of] and gonna have some gravy and corn with it. yumm. Not as healthy as some of the other stuff, but better than kfc. ;]

grr
I had way too much house work to do today, so I didn't get a workout in.
I feel bad..gah.

I just got done making chicken and rice for my lunch tomorrow.
and made a grocery list for the fasha.
I should have time for a workout tomorrow :]
