tell your most painful moment in the gym

just tell about the most painful experience in the gym(or at home lifting) you've ever had. whether it be dropping weights on your foot or being made fun of by someone for whatever reason. or if you couldnt reach your goal...just explain.
for me, its probably when i got made fun of for only being able to bench 120lbs at school. it wasnt that bad, but i usually enjoy my time working out. ^^

it could be about your most funny/enjoyabe/proudest moment in the gym too ^.^

This is going to be a funny thread.

My most painfullest was actually pretty recent. I was doing chin-ups and I slipped because my hands were swetty (or I just have a bad grip) and I came down and twisted on my right ankle. Also during my Freshmen year I tried to deadlift 200 pounds, got halfway, and dropped it on my foot... I can deadlift 210 now though.

Most proudest moment- probably when I maxed 155 on the Bench. Started at 100 pounds.

I was doing a dumb bell incline bench with 60 lbs. in each hand. I went to set them down. My best friend had his 35 lbs db's laying right where I wanted mine but I couldn't see them. My right hand went down first and my middle finger got smashed between the 60 pounder and the flat side of the 35 pounder. The pressure actually pushed part of the muscle in my finger out of the skin. I still can't straighten my middle finger all the way and it completely killed my gripstrength.

Another time I was doing the clean and jerk. It was a bit over 200 lbs and I got the weight up and got under it. I was squating down at the moment getting ready to come up with and lost my balence. I went backwards. I was pinned under the weight.

when my left knee blew out after my second set of leg presses. took me outta the gym for a year.

now i stick to squats.

Oh goodness..i'm like mr bean in the gym.

Best moment..when everyone watched me deadlift 225lbs in perfect form

Worst moment..warm up on incline dumbell flyes and i let my arms out to extend and overdid it and my whole arm twisted so the inside of my elbow was parallel to the ceiling..lucky enough i just give it a quick rub and it was back to normal..very lucky escape

Funniest moment...opening up my drink container and my protein shake ended up on someone else..he was joking that he didn't get a drink of it and then he laughed

OH, I guess the best time was when I dead lifted 505lbs my senior year of highschool. That was an absolute AWESOME feeling. :)

i dont think i have any 1 most happy time in the gym but i was always happy with how i improved in chinups. one time i added 3 chinups to my previous record in 1 week. it feels great to succeed in the gym! : D

Most painful(ly embrassing that is) when I went to the juice bar for the first time and ordered a #5. She said: "Would you like it in your water?" And I thought, well no, I want it by itself. Then she said (to my mortification): "Won't it taste funny that way?" .

Apparently a #5 wasn't a Whey "shake", it was a scoop of whey "powder"!! I was wondering why it was so cheap LOL.

She explained it to me and I told her I thought it was a shake I felt like a complete idiot!

Back in the early days, when I didn't squat properly, I went down with 180lbs on my back and pulled a muscle in my back. It was painful for weeks and kept me out for a month or two.

During the summer when I was lifting at the gym, I was benching and was on, believe this, my last rep of my last set. I touched my chest, but couldn't get the bar up. I didn't have a spotter and had too much pride to yell for help (I was 15 and the only person in there under 20 and the only 1 that wasn't jacked). I had it around 5 inches above my chest for a good 20 seconds before some guy on the incline BP saw me and jumped over to spot. It was pretty embarressing at the time.

If yer not familiar with bands...it might be hard to visualize this

Mine just happened the other day. I was trying out bands for hte first time. I had a blue band double wrapped and was doing push presses. I thought it was really cool and worked up pretty heavy since it takes all the tension except at mid-way through lockout.

Anyway...I was finished and started to unload one side. Well, the bar shifted and tipped down and teh weights went flying like a slingshot all over the rack and to the other side of teh gym.

After a night of drinking my buddy and I for some reason started doing some bench presses in our drunken stupor. Anyways when I woke up in the morning I couldnt understand why my foot hurt so bad. He said you dont remember dropping the 45lb plate on your foot???!! I remember it now, but couldnt until he told me.

Actually just the other day I was running on the treadmill and apparently paying too much attention to the bball game on the tv. My left foot landed off the track and I almost fell. Almost...

haha, i can so visualize that! :D

My proudest moment.. probobly when i deadlifted 140kg for the first time.
or when i did a back squat of 100kg for the first time, was a pretty good feeling.

my worst.. hmm, havent had that many bad moments in the gym :p

I can think of a few but here's some for now:

Most embarrassing moment - doing 1 min 45 secs on the elliptical my first time on it

Greatest moments - Doing half an hour on the elliptical for the first time, Completing my first "Race Day" spin class, and completing my first 2 hr spin class, hearing my spinning instructor (on more than one occasion) mention that I was the best student in her class

Worst - the woman I was running alongside on treadmill collapsed suddenly without wearing the safety harness thing - so when I noticed that I leant over to press the emergency stop on hers and jumped off my treadmill... while it was going 15km/h.

Smacked straight into the wall and nearly knocked myself out - wandered around for a few moments trying to get my head straight, lol

Most painful moment-
It's a close tie:

When I tried deadlifting something like 400 lbs, all back. This was about 3 years ago. It took almost 2 years to recover.

Damaged tendons in my right pec. Never recovered.
