naturally strong?

I've always wondered about this. How come some people are simply naturally strong? At about 150 lbs, and 16 years old I weigh around average... But I can lift almost 3x as much weight as most people with my weight, height, and age. Obviously I can because I've been training for quite a while now. But even before I started workout out, I would normally be able to lift way more than anyone else, do more push ups, situps.

Is it just a motivation reason, or mental reason? Or is it actually possible to be "naturally stronger" when both bodies are almost identicle?

It is reality that some people are stronger by nature. It could be tons of things from hormones to the efficiency of action potentials.

Also the amount of exercise you get as a child. I never did **** when I was a kid, while everyone else was playing ball and stuff...this, coupled with an immense mental blockage (I never wanted to participate or try, always equated any contact as pain) yeilded a physically weak child. But soon, that child would become a weak, but angry child...

I was on the computer for so much when I was like 6-12.. Im still on it alot but I'm strong, as big as the other freshman football players some of them are smaller than I am..and I never even played any sports. My nephew is so active and hyper and hes much smaller and weaker than I am.. It may be the 1 year difference but I dont know.

but you workout, right? And if you're nephew is hyper and active but much smaller, he probobly doesnt eat enough. And being very hyper and active is also a sign of being "skinny fat" an ectomorph

Exercise is definitely a factor, genetics are very important aswell. A gene named Myostatin controls your muscle growth (by preventing growth) using a protein, the more you have, the smaller your muscles will be. There are obviously a lot of other genes that are important, but I can't think of any more of the top of my head.

^^Not theories, scientific evidence. Written about in my Exercise Phys text. :D

I don't know what it is, or if we can even sit here and make theories. I am very naturally strong, and always have been. There really is no (identifiable) reason for it.

Sure there are identifiable reasons for it. Do some research. See mreik's post.....

This isn't a question like "is the moon made of green cheese?"

There is some scientific research and evidence to answer the original question. Do scientists have all the answers? No, but they have some identifiable reasons....
