What to eat??

I need some advice as to what I should eat before the gym- I'm going straight from work to the gym, so I have no problem having a snack/small meal before I leave at 5 pm , but I won't be able to have dinner till about 8pm. And there will be times when I'm waiting for dinner to cook when I get home which will push it back even later. So any suggestions as to what I can have at theses times so I don't allow myself to get hungry and loose it!!

Side note-I'm trying to cut out the carbs this time of night, I need to loose FAT!!
 
Carbs/protein meal. I usually take a dextrose/whey shake with me to the gym, so that could be an option. When I used to work 8-5 I would eat chicken/broccoli or something during my break at around 330. Worked for me.
 
Any kind of fruit would be good for a snack and it should keep you going till dinner time. But im more like tonym I usualy eat some thing around 4pm so that when i get off at 6 i can go straight to the gym and not be starving
 
I agree with the idea of takign a shake to the gym, do you use whey at all right now shells?

No I don't, I have a muscle feeder that is "spuppose to be" better then most whey shakes-it says. But it doesn't do anything as far as keeping me ull feeling.

What are some tips to choosing whey? And what is dextrose? :)
 
I am no expert on the exercising part but I am nuts about packing food. So just a thought for your dinner: how about prepping extra food the day before you plan to go to gym. When you got back home just need to reheat. :) (my mom likes to cook a big batch then portioned it into smaller containers. Very handy when she is out of town and the husband is left home alone. Beats frozen TV dinners you bought in supermarket).
