Tito Ortiz's Body

Hey everyone. I had a little laugh when I realized what the name of this thread is called, i'm straight.

To get to the point, I was wondering if anyone knew exactly what Tito Ortiz's workout is. Something about his body is different from any other fighter, Ken shamrock, stephen Bonnar, Forest Griffen. I can't pin point it. I am wondering because I would like to achieve that type of build instead of a normal muscle head body. I have borken it up to his large forearms, high delts, large lats, and wider abs. If their is anyone who is a expert in the area of muscle porportions and can go look up a picture of him and break it down into far greater detail, I would be very greatful.

Thanks.

Ask Tito he'll tell ya

dont know about the others but i would say shamrock is on gear.

hell i wish i knew also. probally all that grappling helps, that stuff gets you tired real quick if you dont save your energy

hm

Well I know their are people out their who can take a picture and tell me what he does in the gym to get those results... people do it for a living. So if any of you have friends that can tell me, because I have looked at his body compared to Ken shamrock and their is a difference. Ken is bigger, his body could most likely be in a show, but Tito has something about his body that is so different. So please if you have any friends or know someone on the forums that can tell me, id appreciate it very very much.

Tito Ortiz works out several hours a day, 6 days a week, when training for a fight.

He sleeps until around 1:00p.m. so that his body is in peak condition around fight time (in the evening).

If I remember correctly, he starts out the day with a long run. After that, there is a lot of sparring, cardio, weight training, and they do 100 crunches for every fighter there (generally there is 6 or 7). They pretty much do nothing but get up, train, and sleep 6 days a week.

He eats no processed foods at all (except some protein supplements, etc), so his diet is absolutely perfect.

Basically, his entire full time job is to train. No freakin' wonder he looks like that.

Thank you for that, I was more looking for his muscle porportion so I can lift what he does. As in I meant if someone could get a picture and assest what he works out th most.

The large lats are probably due to Tito's wrestling backround. A lot of guys are built the way they are because of what they have trained in. Many grapplers have big lats and thick necks. Tito appears to have small leg I believe on TUF 3 he joked about them as being the reason he can make 205. I've never seen his legs above his calves though.

thank you martin that is more of what i was looking for :] deschain thank you for that also, I would much like to go into thew style of fighting Tito has gone under. More of a aggressive submission fighting.

Anyone else have a more detailed description so I can lift to get that kind of build?

you're welcome. i'm thinking tito works out his whole body equally, and his sport shapes it more. have you considered joining the wrestling team at your school?

Tito's genetics also play a huge role on which muscle groups are easy for him to build up, as well as each muscles shape.
you can't sculpt muscle, that's genetic...all you can do is make it bigger or smaller. as it gets bigger shape may change, but its nothing you can control.

this comment though irritates me: "Well I know their are people out their who can take a picture and tell me what he does in the gym to get those results... people do it for a living."

those 'people' are called personal trainers...and there's no way to look at a photo and tell you what exercises he does for a fact. you can guess, probably within reasonable accuracy...but big deal.

i'll wager its his diet, years of hard training, and quite possibly steroids, that made him the man he is. how he trains is only one part of the equation.

Of course, I was begged last year to join. I weigh 120 and can bench well over my weight, my coach was impressed and thought I would have a knack for it, I said no though. I had jsut got done from foot ball and was weared out. But this year Im all out doing it because it will launch a new path in my future MMA career. I see people like stephen bonnar, he is a amazing fighter but I want a body like TIto, so I've been actually pretty much obsessive trying to find out what he does to get his shape.

That's good, wrestling is a great sport, I'm in it, too=]. I came back to this thread because I had forgotten to post that genetics play a big part in how you are built and how your muscles are shaped, but malkore beat me to it. My advice is not trying to look like Tito, but build your own body to the way you like it. You could probably do everything Tito does and never look like him because of different genetics as well as other variables malkore mentioned at the end of his post. I'm not saying this to discourage you, because we all have an ideal physique that we want to achieve, but I would say just try to build your body catering to your sport, not so you can look like someone else.

Good luck!

Thanks for the help, i'll be posting more things in the future on my OWN training and stuff. also I apologize if I offended anyone. I don't try to I don't read over what I usually write and I guess I should start:/ But thanks again and i'll keep you guys updated :]

Yeah, the point I was making was that Tito devotes his entire life to his sport, so it isn't just his weight lifting routine, ya know? Even if you got a copy of it and tried to imitate it, it wouldn't make you look like him, mostly b/c of genetics, and also b/c I doubt you have access to work out all day 6 days a week with the top professionals in the field.

A perfect example of this is Tito's camp. They all work out with him, doing the entire workout the exact same as him, from cardio, to diet, to sparring, to weight lifting, and they look different than him.

What the hell was his name from TUF 3? You know, the "team dagger" guy? He works out with Tito at his camp, so does Mike (?), the deaf one, and neither one of them look a thing like Tito.

Thanks for that DVD link, I use alot of YouTube to see his training, I watch his highlights maybe twice a day because I'm basically obsessed with his aggressive ground n pound. I mean you watch the guy, He is so aggressive and is the first one throwing punches, and when they block, boom takes them to the floor and beats their ass. I picked Tito because that's how I like to fight, but other wise if I wasnt built like a wrestler or didn't have the skill i'd pick Stephen bonnar or Matt from TUF3

haha any his head is huge, mine is small.

John Cena is too muscle massive for me. I am not looking to be all full of muscles, just have muscles in the right spots. My back ( for punching and ground n pound) my neck, shoulders, and some chest and abdominal width. I dont want Massive arms or a Massive chest.
