Looking for some advice...

First off, I want to just introduce myself to the forums and let you know that I've been reading the posts for a while now as a non member and I absolutely am shocked with the amount of good people/advice this forum has to give and I hope I can contribute to that. Now, my "problem": I am 18 years old and I've been going to the gym on and off for about a year now. I consider myself to be in pretty decent shape im about 5'8 150 lbs and am an avid hockey player. I have a 37 inch chest and a 31 inch waist and I feel good about my body except for one insecurity, which happens to be my butt. I know some may laugh when they read that but I've been teased about it a lot. My friend's will constantly point it out and say "look at that badonkadonk" and different crap like that. Asking me why my a$$ is so big. I'm to the point where I hate it when people walk behind be because I think they're starring at it and thinking how big it is. The part that im confused about is that my butt when it is flexed is hard like a rock (not trying to brag here in anyway) which I think was a result of hockey 4 to 5 days a week. I guess I'd like to know how to get my "butt" in shape. I want to put my shirt on and take a side view in the mirror and not see a bubble butt. I welcome any advice and thanks again for reading this long post.

Well, you could try inducing catabolism, aka muscle breakdown, but that will eat up muscle all over.

The other option is to build up every thing else. You can't spot reduce fat or muscle.

I've always thought about building everything else up to make my butt look smaller but I think that's why I've been working out on and off. I'm afraid I'll build everything else up and I would still have this problem and then no way to fix it.

I was very conscious of my butt when i was about your age. Don't worry about it women love full butts. Its means your lower body domiant which alot of althetles are.

Geez, reading this post brought back memories, i remeber looking in the mirror in just about everything i put on when i was younger to see how my butt looked. :D

If you let your friends get to you they will keep it up. Its human nature. They found a hot button. I'm thinking its in your head personally. It was in my case and i still have a pretty big rear end. Bigger now i would say with all the squats and deads i do. :)

It is probably genetic, your butt is going to be proportionally big no matter what you do to the rest of you. I always thought my butt was big now because I am so big, but I was looking through a photo album recently and saw pictures of me from many years ago when I was about 40 pounds lighter and guess what, my butt stuck way out then too.

Besides women aren't shallow like us men, they would never judge a man solely on his physical appearance!
