Hips and love handles , PLEASE HELP.

Is there some kind of diet or exercise that reduces you hips and lovehandles (or side of hips). B/c I can't seem to get rid of those.
 
You and me both...but the only way u are going to reduce them is overall fat loss.
 
Agreed. You can't lose fat from a particular area. Your body metabolizes fat from your entire body. What type of training do you do?
 
Actually a way to slim them down is to do oblique excersizes ( like the side abdominal ones ) those will start to slim them down. It worked to me! But also just doing cardio will take fat away

How does specific exercise somehow "target" an area of fat? If I was overweight and started doing oblique exercises, would I lose weight only in my "love handles?" This isn't physiologically possible.
 
dainkel, please don't offer advice about something you clearly know nothing about! It simply isn't possible to spot-reduce fat.

People could read your advice, go away and do nothing but oblique excercises. Then, in a few weeks time when they realise that this has made NO DIFFERENCE WHATSOEVER, they could become disheartened and give up on the idea of training!

Leslie, as has been posted already, overall fat loss is the way to go. A clean diet, cardio and weights programme is the way to get results. You will find loads of advice on this forum regarding programmes and nutrition so, use the 'search' facility and get reading.

Now, maybe you already train and you are just having trouble getting rid of the last bit of fat (your post wasn't clear). Sometimes, the last bit of fat can be stubborn and hard to shift. If this is the case, it sounds like it may be time to mix up your training and shock your body into metabolising what is left.

well, its not going to like shrink them away for good - but anytime you do a strength excersize its going to make an area look better. Your obliques rap around your side and back, so if you do excersizes to "target" and area, it is going to look better. But than again cario is the easier way
 
I posted it because it worked for me. Maybe my body just EATS away fat somehow, but i dont think thats possible.
 
Well, why not take the other approach... make things around them bigger, like your legs and your back. The added muscle will improve fat burning and make your hips look smaller by comparison.
 
stingo: LOL the thought of making ANYTHING look bigger scares the bejeepers out of me! LOL WEll, except for one area. LMAO.
