How does my workout look?

First off, I'm 5'10" and 225lbs, i've dropped about 30lbs since january and i'm going for at least 20 more. I've been lifting for a couple months doing the "Body for life" workout and can tell i'm toning a bit, just wondering what you think of the workout plan. I try to go monday, wednesday, friday.

monday
Chest Bench press 12,10,8,6,12 reps.
Dumbell Flys 12

Shoulders Side Raises 12,10,8,6,12
Dumbell Press 12

Back Pulldowns 12,10,8,6,12
Rows 12

Tricep Pushdowns 12,10,8,6,12
Tri extentions 12

Bicep Preacher curls 12,10,8,6,12
Dumbell curls 12,10,8,6,12

Wednesday Legs and Abs

Friday- Same as above, but change exercises.

I'm just wondering if this is a decent workout or if I should try something different like a push pull. I'm a newbie just looking for advice. Thanks in advance.

body for life routine is fine. but their diet is a little lacking, mainly cuz Bill doesn't recognize the difference between starchy carbs like pasta/bread/rice, and fiberous carbs, like fruits and veggies.

eat as much vegetables as you want (except potatoes), and enjoy more fruits than he allows (esp. apples and berries).

technicaly as a novice, you could do very well on 3x per week full body workouts. that's a beginner routine, then you'd go to upper/lower split, and then graduate to push/pull/legs split after a year of regular training.

thats my take on it.
