I need a little advice

Hi, my name is jerry and first off im new to this site. I am 18 years old and have been lifting weights on and off for about a year. I use to weigh 240 then i started to run and i lost about 50 punds .. then i hyperextended my knee. i weigh 214 now. I need some advice on how to lose weight and tone my body. Maybe a good workout plan. Good nutrion plan. right now i run about 6 miles to 12 miles a day . depending on how sore i am from the previous day. I try to do different work outs. I only really know a few exercises and im not really worried about strengh training. My bench i havnt maxed out in awhile but its about warm up sets of 225 and my 6 set is 275. i learned a pyramid kind of workout from football. I have some belly fat and some Chest fat and i really want to lose this along with getting toned. Iv talked to some traners and one said because of my frame its hard to get abs bu im willing to try. IM highly motivated and just want to do this.

what you want is for us to write you out a compleate program for cardio, weights and a good diet plan for you to follow?

if you wanna post me a check for £100 I'll gladly call you up and set out a diet and training plan for you. But for free? and without knowing anything about you? No way.

I will give you a very basic idea of what to do and what to read up on to help you get started.

1st you gotta find your goal, 3main goals are to build muscle, lose fat, or get fitter. - your training and diet will change acording to each.

and no you can't do them all at the same time you have to do them in stages.

for a begginer -

weight training - reserch a 3day split routine.
my favorite is chest/lats - traps/delts/back - legs/core
other popular ones are push - pull - legs

Cardio - read up on HITT training.

Diet - read the nutrition section of the forum and go to www.fitday.com
you want to be eating 5-6 small meals a day. if your bulking lots of protien and lots of carbs, if your maintaining your weight, lots of protien and less carbs. if your loosing weight, very few carbs and very few fats and if your aiming for fittness, lots of slow and fast burning carbs.

TY :-D hehe it was was worth a shot to see if someone already had like there plan typed out... thats what i was planning on doing when i fugre it out i will research all of these and give them a shot

Its best to work it out for yourself rather that copy what some1 else is doing. that way you learn exactly was is happening to your body and why.

If you learn, then you'll get interested, then your motivation will be much better. Most people that quit fittness, quit because they are board and didnt know what they were doing in the 1st place.

please list these goals in order so I know whats important to you.
strength, muscle mass, muscle diffinition, fat loss, fittness
 
1. Fitness
2. Fat loss
3. Muscle mass
4. Muscle definition
5. Strengh

However there all very important to me. Strengh would probably be last becuase i dont play football anymore.
 
uh, see now that was a little bit of a test, cos muscle deffinition and fat loss are the same thing.

well if fittness is your freak then you should head up to the running forums, read up and google some articals. the guys in the running and fitness forums will tell you whats good to read.
 
i guess that would be true... but i always compared muscle defintion into like resitane training. in order for me to get muscle defintion i would have to lose fat first, im guessing like off my chest and stomach. Thank you for the advice :)
 
You cant spot reduce fat. you have a layer of fat all over your body, but you cant choose where it comes off.

No You should't loose weight 1st unless your obease. You should build muscle, then loose fat. its much easyer as your metabolism will speed up when you start gaining mass.
 
so would you recommend me eating 6 meals a day? small meals = portins of protein and carbs cutting carbs out later at night. working out 6 days a week like a routine? do you have any advice on what to work out each day? like exp, chest arms (mon ) so on and so forth? what would be good and the fat should drip away?
 
Jerry, eat 6 meals a day.

Start with 3 fullbody workouts a week. Pick 4 compound movements and 1-2 isolation movements. Work in the 6-15 rep range. Don't neglect any bodyparts or movements.

Cardio 3-6 days a week.
 
sweet thx il start posting pictures also im gona start this ethier tuesday for wensday... does sleep patterns affect much. i kn ow it will affect it because body heiling.
 
Hi,Im new to this site.Im 15 years old and im studying to be a Personal Trainer
i am studing the-American Aerobic Association International and International Sports Medicine Association course and it is pretty hard i was wondering if anyone had any tips or can give any ways to make it simpler.Oh and my test is MARCH 1ST
