Am I Fat or Average?

Hey all. I'm 16, 5"5 1/2 and 138-140lbs. My lowest was 130lbs and when I joined the gym I managed to gain 8-10 lbs :mad: So I just want your opinions :)


Also are Tomatoes or Chili healthy to eat? XD
 
from an empirical point of view you r definitely not fat! and those pounds u gained were probably muscle. U should measure your body fat
 
You are for sure not fat. I weigh 131 now having dropped down from 142. Even though i wasnt happy with my body,stamina or energy...I certainly wasn't Fat. If you want to lose weight or stop bad habits hey thats great, but understand that you aren't fat and that health should be the ultimate goal.
 
Assuming you are female... no you are not fat. 20% body fat is great. Here are some numbers for you to compare:

For Women

Essential Fat= 10-12%

Athletes= 14-20%

Fitness= 21-24%

Acceptable= 25-31%

Obese= 32% plus

These numbers are according to ACE (American Council on Exercise)

You and I are about the same size. I to am 5'5 and 130 lbs however I do fluxuate between 128 to 143!!!!!!!! "Over the holidays"... But usually hang out in the mid 30's. My bf% is 21. I dont think of myself as fat at all.. I have areas to work on in addition to maintaining my weight. But that come with having two children.
Just keep working out and eat healthy foods! and yes tomatos are healthyand are one of my favorites! Chilli is ok too! I would use a lean beef if you take yours with meat. Other than that eat away! and good luck!
 
Please keep in mind not to compare yourself to others when looking at your weight. body fat, etc. Our bodies are all unique. That being said, 20% body fat is very healthy and actually pretty lean in my opinion.
Tomatos are very healthy. How is your chili made?
