Do dumbell bench presses work the pecs better than barbell?

this is what I'm finding. I'm pretty sure I'm doing the barbell one properly, bar down to the nipples and power up. Barbells seem to work the triceps a lot, but not the pecs. The dumbells seem to work pecs more, especially the outer area.

Use both.
You're feeling the pecs more with the DB's because of the more natural arc you're able to use...you almost get a bit of a flye exercise at the same time, which really hits the pecs.

I tend to do one barbell press and one dumbell press on my chest days, to make sure i'm hitting it a few different ways, with different stresses, without over-doing it.

You could also just do dumbbells for a few weeks, then barbells a few weeks, etc. Just try to keep the body from adapting to the stresses you put on it, and you'll keep growing/getting stronger.

Dbs really help the small muscles. I got my regular bench up first and then i realized I needed to do dumbelss and it turned my pecs into steel balls. I also do them both on the same day but not back to back.

yeah DBs focus on the individual pecs, left arm, left pec, right arm right pec and this also keeps them even, with a BB if one pec is stronger than the other it will do more of the work resutling in more strgeth gain and the other one not getting as strong...so DB is good for even strgeths...

i believe that barbell would be better because you can lift a lot more weight. but DB is still key. I think you should hit the barbell first, super heavy weight, low reps, then hit the DBs with more moderate weight and more reps.
