Toning up

Heys Guys im chrissyc! im 16 years old. i weigh 53 kg and im 167cm tall. i play tennis and soccer and exercise quite frequently. However, i have chunky legs and a flabby woggy stomach how can i tone these up... i want to look good in a swimming costume. I eat alot and get alot of cravvings how can i get rid of these nasty habits! i try cutting up carrots and cucumbers but it just dosent do it for me! i need help fast.. i cant go to skool wif chunky legs! the bottom half of my leg is bigger than my calve lol its groose i need help! REPLY ASAP

do u mean the bottom half of your leg is bigger than your thighs??? cause the bottom half of your leg is your calf !!! lol um yeah well the best way to tone up your legs would be squats, squats, squats and calf raises ... just make sure u get the technique rite :)
were in aust u from??? for the food u just need to realise that all the food u crave isnt going to give u the nutrition u need to stay healthy so ask ur self if u really need it .. it is ok to eat that type of stuff now and then aswell so dont compleatly cut it out

hey im gud thanks.. urself? im from sydney!! lol sorri about the error :$ embarassing! but yeh my calf is bigger than my thigh but my calf is a bit bigger than the begining of my thigh.. nothing abnormal lol! so lemme get this right squatting is like.. say u needed to go to the loo ( a female) to do a number two and they were in the bush wif no toilets so she'd dig a whole spread her legs apart andpush her bum down if u get me lol sorri... but am i gettting the drift? and how do i do calf rises??? thanks for the advice.. im realli in need. Got any adive for toning up the stomach?

yeah haha i thought u ment that !!! lol nice description of the squats lol and yeah thats pretty much it just dont let ya bum go furthur down than ur knees
stomach muscles (abs) are made in the kitchen so a clean diet should give u that along with some basic crunches and some variation crunches 2!!! :)

Hi Crissy,
welcome to the forum. If your calves are bigger than your upper legs, building up msucles in your quads and hams would help. Do you belong to a gym? On this page you can click on quads and hamstring to find various exercises. Also abs since you want to work on your tummy. http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/exercises.htm
And actually, it would be best if you worked all your msucle groups for balanced strength.
But don't worry, doing these exercises will NOT make you musclular like them! Chances are they have been training hard for years and have taken some performance enhancing supplements...
These exercises will not help you lose fat in those particular areas. Fat comes off the body evenly all over. Here's some info on that:
• Fat loss will occur in a preprogrammed proportion dependent upon genetics, sex, and hormonal levels.
o Areas with the largest amount of fat lose more fat although although these areas will seem to be totally reduced last.
o With adequate fat loss muscular definition will be achieved in the peripheral and gradually toward the waist, hips, or thighs.
• Exercise will help burn calories and maintain lean body weight which can result in fat loss. Increases in muscle in specific areas can change the appearance of those areas but will not result in specific loss of body fat.
• If the muscle mass improvements out pace fat loss in a specific area, girth can be greater.
