yogurt diet?

has anyone tried this eat more yogurt to lose weight diet? they say that its been proven to help in weight loss, but does it really?

It may very well work, i don't know. But nothing beats the old eat healthy and get regular excercise diet, works a treat.

People who go on "crash" diets and those who lose a lot of weight quickly may get gallstones.

It is recommended that you do not lose more than 3 lbs per week especially using the super low-calorie liquid fasting diets.

Yogurt has a lot of sugar in it so I personally try to limit it. Also alot of yogurts are made with apertame. I get La Creme by Danon it has the least sugar of most the yogurts and does not contain aspertame.

I eat lowfat yogurt and lowfat cottage cheese daily. I purchase mine from Trader Joe's (health store near my house), so there's no additives. I just get the plain, no flavor and just add a pinch or two of dried fruit (from trader joe's too and loaded with fiber) or cut up fresh fruit for taste.

On a side note...
If anyone has a Trader Joe's around them I def. recommend checking it out. So many wholesome, organic foods and it's so reasonable..unlike many other health food stores.

Ok back to question at hand....
Aside from keeping bones & muscles strong, since dieting sometimes breaks them down, cacium also fights against bone deterioration as one ages (which is why some form of weight lifting is a must too). I also have read articles with research\statistics stating that calcium aides in digestion and metabolism function.

Regardless, I wouldn't 'eliminate' anything from your diet especially one that is packed with vit.s & nutrients. I would look at the labels though...some of them are packed with sugar. Try a plain lowfat one and add some fresh fruit, it's just as yummy!!

WHat is the 'yoghurt' diet? It sounds like all you get to eat is yoghurt. I imagine that you'll lose wieght in the short term but, the words "fad" and "yo-yo" spring to mind.

Good diet and excercise would be a better alternative.
