walking

Just wondering how my body would benefit from 45 mins of brisk walking every day? Been doing it for about 8 weeks now and don't notice any difference in my shape!

Walking seems to be the only option for me as at home with young children and can't afford gym, house not big enough to accomodate equipment and time limited! (Sorry, I'm not as sad case as this all sounds- honest!!!)

Desperate like so many to loose inches & just a few pounds! Any advice?

Healthy eating.

Get with a professional (doctor) who will work with your health along w/nutrition and proper exercise.

If you aren't using a heart rate monitor when you work out, you really have no idea if you are training correctly for you.

Without more info, it is dificult to tell what you are doing wrong.

Ofcourse the key, (like everyone else said) is a balanced diet.

Cardio is great for fatloss.

And exersises, you don't really need equipment to do them. Equipment is handy when you can afford them, but not a must. If you would need to get anything, it would be a set of free weights; they aren't very expensive and don't take up much space. I know a couple of good websites that offer a lot of exersises with detailed discription and pictures on how to do it. If you're interested, I can post the links.

And things like taking the stairs instead of the elevator, using your bike instead of the car for short distances also help.

If the children are old enough you can take them to a pool, go running. I fyou have busy streets then go to a park if you have time, and if you don't try to make some time.
Walking: weather walking will actually help or not depends on a few things and is different from person to person IE: If your well overweight where you can't run and walking is just as difficult then yes it helps in the way of fatloss.
but if can run just fine then walking will have little effect.

As others mentioned, grab a pair of dumbbells. They take up no space and you can do loads of exercises with them. The more lean muscle you have the more calories you will burn.

Also consider interval training. If you have 45 minutes to walk each day, try to jog for part of the walk. This will increase your intensity a bit.
