Top 5 summer dates for fitness enthusiasts

So it's that time of year when everyone comes out of hibernation, the sun is shining, the birds are singing, and love seems to blossom. In simpler terms it is a time when the dating scene heats up, and more and more people get hungry to find someone special to share the heat with (and not just the sun). So in light of the summer heat, Fitness.com would like to give you some suggestions on how to spend your summer nights with that special someone.

Here are fitness.com's top 5 summer date picks:

1. A picnic
Sure it may seem old fashioned, but it can be a simple inexpensive date that any man or woman can enjoy. Take him or her on a small walking trail to that special secluded spot for the two of you to share.

What you will need:

  • A backpack
  • A blanket
  • A small cooler
  • Some snacks (nuts, fruit, chocolate)
  • Water
  • Sandwiches
  • Sparkling cider or wine

2. Kite Flying
This is not just a fun activity for kids, adults can do it too! You can buy a
cheap kite at your local dollar store, Canadian Tire, or Wal-mart, and take your loved one to a windy beach. Run along the water and get your kite flying high. It's amazing how much fun you can have together with something as simple as a kite, and a camera to take some fun photos.

What you will need:

  • A kite

3. Garage Sale hopping
It is almost like a treasure hunt because you never know what you will end up finding. Garage saling allows you to get to know your partner more, especially about their taste and style. It also allows for some humorous conversation and exercise, especially if you pick a few places that are close together that you can walk to.

What you will need:

  • A few dollars to spend

4. Washing the car
This one applies mainly to men, but I'm sure some women could arrouse their partner by washing her man's truck in a bikini. Car washing always leads to teasing, and water play. If you do it together, there is almost a gaurantee that a water fight will break out. It's a great work out too for your arms, back, and legs.

What you will need:

  • A bucket
  • A sponge
  • A water hose
  • Car Washing Fluid

5. Water Sports
Ok, so this can get a little pricey if you don't have a boat or a jet ski. Most
water sports require these, and even renting them can be steep. If you don't own one, but have the cash to spend on renting, it is well worth it. Try water skiing, wakeboarding, or even tubing. As a more budget worthy suggestion, try hitting up the waterslides, or playing frisbee at the beach. This will keep you moving, and without spending a dime you can still have fun with your partner.

From fitness.com, go spread some summer love!
