Your one favourite exercise?

my favorite has to be bicep curls, love the way my arms look after burning out on those. Least favorite... military press, man do those burn like nothing else.

For me it is a toss up between power clean/push press or snatches, particularly with kettlebells.Pull-ups are a close second though.

lol... can you say olympic?? Just curious matt, but have you ever just lifted bb's and db's, i mean like for a few months?

Anyways to answer the Q.. I'm gonna go with keg throws, haven't done them ina while  but soon enough..

I love treadmill and weights --I feel so stress free on the tread and with the weights I just feel so much more stronger every time. I luv it

Yeah.I used them pretty much exclusively for about 12 years.I used to love free weights as they are very good tools and I still have my olympic bar and a set of 15ib bumper plates (sold my rack, bench and the rest of my olympic plates when we decided to put our house up and move to AZ).But I'm sticking with the kettlebells and bodyweight for now.Thanks.

Just out of curiousity, what size/weight keg do you use for your throws and which type of throw do you favor the most?I have a 15.5 gallon keg at home that I use to love shouldering.Awesome exercise.

I use a 15 gallon keg (hmm.. it might be 15.5 lol) but it's not all the way full.. I put one hand on the bottom and one on the top and throw it straight up, bending as if I was squating, I also do the over the head and throw it foward.. I've never actually looked up exercises or been told how to do it.. Kinda just winged it..

Oh and about the Q before, I was just wondering if there was a certain thing that turned you away from free weights, since I know you've been at this longer than me... Maybe I could make a realization before I was supposed to, save me some time lol

Not at all.Free weights are great for building size and strength and I would never dismiss them.To tell the truth, I have a bulging disc at the L4-L5 region that I sustained while working mad hours for a moving company.I wanted time off from the heavy lifting to let this condition improve and the kettlebell exercises have been fantastic (along with proper core training) to rehab my back.In addition, I had been using free weights for so long that I wanted a change of pace.

Once I get settled in Phoenix in a few months I am going to start back with barbell bench presses and barbell deadlifts and I'm actually pretty stoked about the return. But don't let me disuade you from free weights. They work well.

Good luck with the keg lifting.Solid exercises.

Matt
