Younger guy, first time getting in shape.

Hi! I'm really excited to get going on my diet and excercise plan I'm on my second week and I havent lost any weight yet but right now I'm working on doing 40minutes of cardio 3 days a week and 2 days of strength training, also trying to just cut back on my portion control.

I'm 24, 5'11 and 230lbs. I have always been chubby in the mid-section and butt, thigh area. When I was 16 I had a few knee surguries to correct a problem with my legs. One leg was growing faster than the other. To correct this 2 growth plates were removed from my knees to counter act the miss growth. I was basically suppose to be 6'1 but from the surguries I am 5'11.

Anyways, I've wanted to be really in shape looking. But I think due to my body I've never been able to really have a six pack or skinny legs or thighs. I've very self concious about that area of my body and I wanted to see how far I can push my physical fitness and get down to my target weight of 200lbs before I pursue surgery to remove some of the excess fat and skin around these areas of my body.

So yes, just saying hello!!! Looking foward to starting a diary soon!
 
At 5'11 and 230 I can't imagine you'll need any surgery to remove excess fat/skin. I'm 5'9 and was pushing 230 when I started this and I've no problems with excess anything other than the fat that is still on its way out of here. No hanging skin or anything, though.

Just eat well, keep up the exercise and you'll find yourself looking how you want to look. Good luck!
 
Dude welcome! Do this it helps SO much....I'm going to tell you the same thing I tell people when I welcome them, "I think the best thing is make a diary and post in other diary's to see what people are doing in there every day life with the weight loss and working out! hahaha. So this is my 3rd week now and I already have TONS of energy, I coaxed my mother into working out with me and trying to stick to a 3rd cardio 2day strength training schedule! I've noticed a little results around my waist and stomach area.

How much weight have you lost so far?

right now i've lost 0 pounds, and today is the start of my 3rd week.

I keep reading that muscle weights more than fat! Maybe I'm building a lot of muscle! Hahha.

Today I noticed some results that my waist and stomach looked smaller, however my belt was still on the same hole :(

I just started a diary yay! lol
