You can't always get what you want (Athala's diary).

I'll be starting a new diary, as I feel I was way too negative during the course of this one. I've edited / deleted this post and the subsequent replies that had a negative / pessimistic vibe to them.

You still can find my experiences with different ways of eating and different experiments I did.

Welcome to your new diary.

I deleted off your old diary - as per your request.

I hope that the new diary helps you have a new start.

You mention that you are not doing consistent exercise yet. I really do encourage you to try doing some daily walking... It really made the biggest difference for me... It had all sorts of benefits in addition to burning calories... It gave me some exercise to feel good about... It got me outdoors and therefore I got benefits from the fresh air and vitamin D we get outdoors... Walking for a chunk of the day gave me a window when I didnt want to snack on things so gave me a natural break if I was in a mood where I wanted to eat... A surprising benefit for me was that the regular repetitive nature of the footsteps of walking actually helped me to think - it tended to help my moods to become more tranquil... before I started walking I would describe my moods as being in peaks and troughs... I would go from being the happiest person on the planet to the depths of despair... I had a perfectionist attitude and high expectations of myself - any dropped ball would be a tragedy... I walk every day now... I can say that I have been naturally much more tranquil over the past six years...

I read the things that you posted and I really hope that you try some regular walking... It doesnt matter how fast...

Good luck Athala! An internet forum is a great way to interact with people in a pseudo-social way. I don't interact with people much outside of my work duties. If it weren't for my wife I would be a complete hermit. I realize you are dealing with more serious issues, but I wanted to make the point that you will find people looking for a different way to connect with others here. I hope school and the diet go well for you.

Thank you all, Cory, Omega, Guideon and Quercus. :grouphug:

I'm happy to report that the allergy/rash I had is disappearing, the visit with a doctor is "on-hold" for now, but I intend to make it eventually.

Food of Today:

Lunch - Breakfast: I woke up fairly late, and shortly after taking my breakfast (oats) I had my lunch.
40g of oats. (160)
100g of pasta. (337)
100g of red meat. (200)
2 tsp olive oil. (80)
1 tsp marigold oil. (40)
(817)

I was planning to eat 200g more of meat, but there was a misunderstanding, and the rest of the family ate the rest of it.

Dinner: I took some pasta and did the same process I sometimes do with rice. Don't ask me why, I just thought it was a good idea.
120g of pasta. (400)
Half an onion. (30)
1 tbs olive oil + 1 tsp olive oil. (120 + 40)
2 eggs. (160)
3 Chopped spring onions. (60)
Some carrot.
(810)

Just in case you are wondering, why I am eating so much pasta; It's because I cooked a lot on Wednesday, and no one but me seems to be eating it. I won't be eating anymore, though, I'm getting tired of it.

Total calories of today: 1627.

Good job with your food today!

I also recommend doing some light exercise as soon as you are both physically and mentally ready. I've found it to be very relaxing and a great way to both relieve stress and increase confidence.

I think I'm doing well with the total calories, but I'm not quite happy, since most of these calories are coming from carbohydrates.

Yesterday at night, my uncle brought french fries, with roasted chicken, and my favorite kind of soda... I didn't ate them, so don't worry. But if I wasn't on my goal calories and knew how much calories those fries where, I wouldn't have doubted a second.

On another note, since I was having pain on my stomach, starting from when I started to take the medication, I decided to do some research on it.
I was prescribed with Naproxen sodium of 550 mg, and it can, indeed, cause stomach pain. I was supposed to take it 3 times a day, each 8 hours, but due to my messy schedule, I was only taking two. I'm already better and I'll stop taking it to see what happens.

That food sounds delicious, and kudos for not giving in and eating it! I might have caved if my parents brought a meal like that home. I'm sorry to hear about your stomach, hopefully your medicine will help.

Well, the medicine its the one actually causing it. But, hey!, It's the intention what counts right? :biggrinjester:

I'm a little late to this party, but welcome to the forum. As you've already seen you'll get a lot of friendly advice and support here.

I just wanted to touch on a couple of things.

I also agree that exercising regularly would be beneficial for you as you try to lose weight. Walking *could* really be a great way to get it in. I also feel that I have a form of social anxiety. Around people I know I'm ok for the most part, but sometimes even then I do get uncomfortable. Around strangers, I can be very awkward so I feel your pain. Do you live in an area where you can just go walking around your neighborhood? You don't have to go with people or even be near other people. Just get yourself an ipod or an MP3 player and it'll be just you and your favorite tunes as you walk around. I found this to be a HUGE help for me.

If you don't like that idea, you could always go out to youtube and watch some free work out videos. I'm not sure if you've seen any of my posts yet, but I'm a huge fan of Taebo. It's helped me to lose a lot of inches and I've found it to be a huge stress reliever and a great workout. Maybe that might be something to interest you? If not, there are others available. :)

Best wishes to you. I hope your feeling better and I hope you reach your goals. :)

is taebo similar to kick boxing?, I used to do some kick boxing routines from Youtube. I like them.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a nice day and take care. :)

Yes, Taebo is like kick boxing. He does a lot of kicking moves which helps to trim your legs down (I'm proof of that...lol). He also does a lot of punching moves which will help trim your arms down as well as your abs believe it or not. Definitely check it out! Even if you find it's not for you maybe you'll trip across something else that is. :)

Sorry, I read your post wrong! Lol I hope your stomach gets to feeling better (without the medicine)!

Food of today:

First meal:
210g of potatoes. (183) (Regular, boiled potatoes, not fried)
1 tsp of marigold oil. (40)
(223)

At this point, I had 3 different things, each one separately, but in a short lapse of time.

Celery.
A glass of soda. (150)
205g of meat. (410)
2 tbs of olive oil. (240)
(800)

1023 so far.

Family bought a cake. I still had 600 calories to my goal here, so I decided to take a piece. That cake will last some days before they eat it, I hope I can avoid it, but it still pushes me in a situation on which I either lose or lose.

Athala, when placed in situations where there is food around that is unhealthy for me, I tell myself to be in control. I think a lot of us have issues with allowing food to control us. It might not work for you, but I've found it helpful to stop and say, "I'm the one in charge here. I will not let food control me."

It has helped me resist stuff that has been left in the house before.

Thanks Cory, I'm gonna try that. I think I'm eating this stuff "Because I can", I definitively could try a bit harder... :blush5:

Food of today:

First meal: 1 piece of cake. (500)

Second and third meal: I made a chicken soup, don't know the exact calories, but as long as they are under 1100, I'll be fine.

I made an account of Fitday, but I'm not quite happy with it. Gonna start working on an excel sheet (Yep, I rather use this method), so I can calculate calories from things like the soup.
