Seriously I cannot stick to any healthy eating for more then a couple of days...i was on Weight Watchers for a year and half and lost 70 pounds but that was when I was 16-17 1/2...now I am 22 and it just seems that WW no longer does it for me so i TRY and eat in moderation, but my biggest dilemma is knowing how to eat without constantly monitoring my calories...whenever I try to be on WW i spend way too much money on 'healthy foods' and only end up gaining more. So this time I decided to get more for my money and buy 'normal' things any thin person would have...minus the 'REAL bad' junk like cookies, chips, ice cream...i NEED serious help on how to eat in moderation so that I can start losing some weight :cuss: THANKS!:ack2:

Well first off IMO/IME You have to be able to say to yourself.. IM DOING THIS!

We all have our bad days but as long as those are far and few between it will not stop us from our goal. I never went on any of the "diet programs" and did my own style of dieting.
Chicken is your friend.. boneless/skinless.

Here is somethings that hopefully can get u on your way.. (this helpped me not saying it will help everyone)

1 boneless skinless chicken breast (cut off any extra fat on the breast before cooking) season with pepper, lemon juice NO SALT.

1 bag of frozen or 1 can of veggies (if only for yourself use 1/2 bag) dont salt

1 can or FRESH (fresh is better) fruit.. Apple, Pinneapple, orange
Rice.

lightly pan fry your chicken breast in a non stick skillit using NO oil, no butter, (pam or other non fat stick spray ok if u need to use something)

boil 1 cup of rice, drain and plate

cut up one fresh fruit into small pieces (if using can fruit DRAIN ALL JUICE and put some in a small bowl on the side)

take your veggies, microwave is better as boiling in water can drain the veggies of all their vitamins

With your rice on the plate cut your chicken into many small pieces and lay on top of the rice (on the side is ok if u have a food touching fetish lol)

Plate a cup of your veggies on your plate and have your bowl with 1 cup of fruit next to you.

Sit at the table and eat with 1 glass of water (skim milk is ok if u perfer milk with dinner, I DO lol)

After dinner wrap up any leftovers to use for lunch the next day (if it is not enought to save TOSS IN GARBAGE/DISPOSAL.. do not eat and dont save for later at night)

couple tips for eating..

Use bright colored plates (dark colors tend to make u eat more)
Eat in a well light area (again being in the dark can cause u to eat more)
Make just enough for u to eat, any extras dispose of or put in tupperware for NEXT DAY ONLY

good luck and I hope this works.. If you need/want any other recipes let me know and I will gladly share with you.

I found that, starting out for me, not knowing much about eating healthy and all that... the very first goals I set were to just stop eating simple carbs and only drinking water....

and in truth, to this point, those are still the only real rules I know to follow, but it has been working amazingly for me so far.

You'd really be amazed how 'unhealthy' it seems like I'm still eating, but still losing weight.

Simple carbs would be things like Potatoes, Sugar, White Bread, Pasta, Rice, and anything containing those. These things are hard as hell to avoid because they're so common in almost everything people eat, and they're bad because they spike your insulin levels and trigger fat storage in your body. The best way to deal with this is just to substitute all of these things for healthier versions. I only eat wholewheat bread and wholegrain pasta now, as well as brown rice. Avoiding Sugar when you're trying to lose weight is kind of a given, avoiding potatoes and fries and such are also something you'll want to do.

You'd be surprised the difference in healthiness just by asking for wholewheat crust when you order pizza, it'll let you eat pizza without it being -too- unhealthy. Other than that, the only other changes I made were to simply switch to just eating low fat versions of every day foods, like cream cheese, mayo, skim milk, ect.

Just make sure you're still getting all the things you need in a day, its easy enough to work out in your head if you've eaten any meat yet that day, or carbs, or gotten some good ol' fruits and veggies.

I personally hate the act of balancing healthy food so it was really annoying for me to start eating healthy... but it's much easier than it seems once you finally decide to tackle it...

p.s. only drink water! easiest, most healthiest rule to follow! well.. not really easiest... I guess most basic... anyway, hope this helps!

If eating in moderation is your main problem... that one is all part of the mind game of losing weight. My best advice is to try to weigh yourself in at the morning of one day... then just do your best to force yourself to only eat 3 normal sized meals of healthy food for about 2-3 days... then weigh yourself in again on the morning of the 4th day. I can almost guarantee you'll have lost 2-4lb in that time, and that alone is always HUGE motivation to yourself to say 'all I have to do is keep eating like that and the weight'll go away! It's that fricken easy!' or something. At least, thats how it kinda ended up working out for me, ;)
