Hello!
I am so new to this type of thing. I'm not a blogger, I'm not a forum reader, so this is all quite exciting.
I will do a brief intro:
23 yr. old female!
Going into my last 4 months of my undergrad...
I've been quite active all of my life (soccer, volleyball, yoga... but yes, that was years ago)

SO long story short, my doctor told me my BMI was too high, and that I had gained 12 lbs. since Christmas. I KNEW my clothes had been fitting tight, but I almost just pretended not to notice and HOPE my personality shined through.

I am now committed to taking off that damn 12 lbs., if not 15!

I'm going to be committed to this thing, so I need all of the virtual help I can get!

Thanks for reading.

Welcome to the forum.

We have great sections on nutrition and exercise here. I suggest that you check them out and pay particular attention to the sticky threads. There is lots of really good information there.

Start logging all your food and activity in - it costs nothing... You will be able to see your calorie balance (the difference between the calories that you eat and those that you burn) which gives you your weight loss.

Start a diary and see who visits. Visit them back in their diaries. You could also visit a few diaries and leave a message and see if they visit you back. This is a great way of making friends. Another good way of making friends is to join clubs and challenges. I know that there is always a monthly weightloss challenge - and my good friend Cord is just kicking off an exercise based challenge. It is these friendships that form your support network which keeps us on track when times get hard - and helps us to get back on track when we could give up. They celebrate with us through the good times too. I have made some wonderful friendships here over the years.

Good luck with your project.
