Yarm's No More Excuses!

You've been getting your yogurt in, very good, but where's the fruits?

Thanks for keeping on top of me. I did bring a peach with me for lunch but after the yogurt and pudding, I wasnt hungry for it. (Maybe if I had not eaten those "other" snacks, ggrrr).

Random thoughts: Got up this morning and did my DVD workout at 6am. Will be alone at work as they rest of the crew is working in a satelite office. Thawing out chicken legs for dinner. Have choir tonight. May change my cleaning day from Thursday to Wednesdays so I can get started on my bagpipe lessons. (The place my Dad played/practiced is about an hour away and always Thursday nights and I was told my a band member to meet there and see what can be worked out. Learning the bagpipes was something I told my Mom I would do to honor Dad, and now with her gone, its a promise to her as well. Nothing like good ole Irish Catholic Guilt to motivate ya LOL).

Breakfast: slice blueberry bread, milk, coffee
Lunch: Olive garden 1 bowl soup, salad, breadsticks(2)
Snack: popcorn
Dinner: baked chicken leg, rice, corn
Snack: low fat ice cream bar

Exercise: 55min DVD workout

That is soooo AWESOME that you are going to learn the bagpipes.
We have an older gentleman that lives in my neighborhood that will occasionally walk around playing his pipes.
I love it! I always grab the kids and go outside to listen.
There is just something about it 'em really touches your soul.
What a great way to memorlize your mom and dad.

I saw this pipe band this summer:

What an amazing show. It's a family, two brothers, two sisters, and the mom. Very talented and such a good stage presence. The mom gave me one of their CD's which I thought was so cool.

It's not traditional, but I prefer that.

How cool is that to learn bagpipes!

Your meals are looking yummy too!

I think it would be so cool to learn bagpipes. My wife, on the other hand, has a different opinion. When we were in Scotland I was dragged physically from a pipe shop. :gnorsi:

Been crazy with schedules lately, but still working out 6 days a week, tho this week, mixing in exercise other than the dvd's. Eating has been doing ok, tho still need to get more fruit- but I have been getting in my veggies and dairy with no problem.

Sept 8th:
Accountablility time: weigh in 179.4lbs up 5lbs !

Weighed in today at 177 even - it's coming down.

Havn't posted in a week. Not because I've been "bad", but so flippin busy with life in general. Still adjusting to the new schedules within the family.

I have been eating "ok", but need to focus more and journal what I ate. I have never been a really "bad" eater- I eat pretty healthy really, it's just that I tend to eat too much (too often, or in wrong portion sizes). I have also kept up with exercising. Not so much working with the Dvd's as much, but am walking the dog.

Let's see if I can't get back to posting daily my food and exercise!

Exercise: 30 min walk with dog (and kids at 6am!)
Breakfast: 3/4 1% milk, 2 slices of whole grain blueberry bread
Snack: 1 med banana, 2 cups halfcaf coffee + fat free creamer

Stay Motivated! Christmas EVe is 3 months away!

Thanks for checkin in, Trops.

Things are going ok, but just busy busy busy. I am eating well, and
have gotten some exercise in too. As a matter of fact, I'm on my way out the door to take the dog for a walk!

I have to get more organzied with my journaling as I am doing it in like 3 places, so it seems I am missing entries in some, and I forget at times where I wrote down and where I didn't- hope to find time to streamline soon.

well, off to walk!

Same ole, same ole.
Busy busy busy and still trying to find my groove. Doing OK in both eating and exercise but could be more focused, but happy not to be binge-ing or being out of control.

Heading up to my folks house tomorrow with my siblings to say a "good bye" to the house before we start to dismantle and clean it for sale. I know I will be burning some calories tomorrow for sure- we have to pull up all the carpet and get rid of alot of stuff. We were able to rent a dumpster to load up. A home has been found for 1 of the 3 cats, so still need to work on that too.

I hear ya about being busy!

Good luck tomorrow getting everything in order. (((hugs)))

Still working at it, towards a healthier and fitter me. Got a few books from the library. Some about grieving and others about successful weightloss (no diet gimmicks). I am working on re training my brain to see food in a different light, discovering why I make the choices I do and how to correct that thought process when eating for the wrong reason.

Continue to get exercise just about everyday. As posted on the dog walkers club, I have rediscovered my Nike+ program that works with my iPod and special insert in my shoe. There are training programs on the website as well, and I am currently working on the one that gets ya from walking to running. I just completed day 4 this morning.

Nice. I keep toying with the Nike + idea. I'd have to get an ipod nano, though. I'll probably get one sooner or later, but it's not high on my priorities right now. I'd love to be able to just track my pace like that, though.

Still working out regularly. The nike+ thing makes it interesting, and having the walk to run program makes me feel safer. At the moment, I am walking for 5 min, and running for 2, then repeating. What I can't understand is why those 2 running minutes kill me toward the end. When I work out on the Nordik Trak, I can go for 45 min, 30 of those minutes at high intensity/speed and sweat. Is pounding the pavement really effecting my that much? I'm having a hard time believing that I will be able to run for more than 1 minute without feeling like I will pass out.

I did not exercise today. havnet had a break since last wed.

Breakfast : 1 fried egg (used Pam), 1 orange, coffee with creamer & splenda
Snack: apple
Lunch: cup crab soup, garden salad w/ grilled chicken and lite dressing
Snack: carrot sticks, handful of mini rice cakes
Dinner: pork chop, baked potato with spray butter/bacon bits/lowfat cheese, peas

Hmm, interesting idea Trops.
I like to see the weight slide down, but having that other motivation is key too.
