Hello Everyone! /waves

You can call me Yana. 23 this year. Female.
My starting weight was 200.2 lbs and my height is 5'4". My goal weight would be to reach 110 lbs. I know that is a lot of weight to lose but I'm giving myself a 1 year period for me to reach within that goal. I suppose that is reasonable enough, right?

Actually it has been 3 days since I started my diet and I have lost about 6.2 lbs. My current weight is 194 lbs.

I'm hoping that with this diary, I can better keep track of what I eat and maybe get some advices from the people here along the way. I'm also hoping I can update on here daily.

So today, I had...

Breakfast - Egg and Toast
Lunch - Chicken and Avocado Wrap
Dinner - Chicken Wrap

The thing about me is I have no clue on the calories of the food I eat. So I tend to get pretty rigid with my diet to stay on the safe side.

As for my workout, I spend about 30 mins or so a day. Doing cardio, aerobic and weight training.

The only problem is that at the end of the workout, I tend to get very dizzy and my vision seems to get a little hazy. And also, after that, I would be very sleepy. Is it normal to feel sleepy after a workout all the time?

Had garlic toast for breakfast. and I just finished my workout. Blacked out for a second after but I'm fine now after having a glass of water.

So I lost another pound today and that brings my current weight to 193 lbs. Sore muscles have deteriorated a little compared to the first 2 days. Hopefully, that's a good thing or maybe it's time to change my training.

Hi Yana!

Welcome! Definitely a great place to keep focused on the prize!

I'm worried about your dizzy/blacking out after workouts. Are they really intense? You should really check with your doctor if you are blacking out after a workout.

I have tried working out in the morning but I feel dizzy after, I just don't think I have enough energy stored up in the morning for it. I started doing it in the evening and I don't have a problem with it.

It could be just being out of shape, but just definitely check it out with the doc first.

Good luck and you have a good start weight-wise so far!

Thank you for the warm welcome. :)

About the workout, im not sure if they're intense or it's probably because it's been a long time since I last worked out and my body maybe got a shock from it. I'll see how it goes for the rest of the week and if the dizziness doesnt get better, i'll go see a doctor.

Maybe I should try working out in the evening for a change some time and see if it'll work better for me.

thank you for the suggestions.

Hi Yana!

Congrats on your weight loss!

You need to fuel your workouts though. If you aren't getting enough calories you will simply black out. It's helpful to eat low fat starchy carbs (the stuff most diets tell you to stay away from, like a slice of bread) within the hour before your workout. Please do some research on this. I think you are not getting enough calories, which can be dangerous.

Here's something that might help, just for starters. Otherwise, google fuel workout dizzy.

Good luck!

Lunch - Chicken sandwich
Dinner - Sweet potato & sausage

My neck is kinda strained after my workout and I think it's probably because I got the wrong form for my weight training just now. I hope that the pain would subside by tomorrow morning or it'll probably affect my workout tomorrow. and I don't need that right now.

and yes, I do realise that I probably need to increase my food intake in the morning before my workout so i'll have the energy to go on for the rest of it. Thank you for your advice.

and i'll most definitely check out the link.

Breakfast - Sweet potato & Sausage
Lunch - BBQ Chicken bun
Snack - Plain Yogurt
Dinner - Sambal Fish with rice

Today's workout was pretty satisfying eventhough my neck is still kinda strained. Lost 0.6 lbs. Kinda disappointing but that would just make me wanna push myself more than ever.

As for my food intake, I'm also quite disappointed with myself for taking such a heavy dinner. Will have to redeem myself tomorrow.

Had 2 slices of garlic toasts for breakfast. Not having a good day today since I gained 2 pounds which I assume is from last night.

and plus, I was told to get a break from today's workout for muscle repair time and I'm worried it may affect my weigh-in tomorrow.

I screwed myself up during the weekends and it definitely shows at the scale today. /sighs

Official Weigh-In
1st Week: 195.6 lbs
SW: 200.2 lbs

Had Chicken Ham Sandwich for breakfast. and I've completed my workout for today.

Today's workout was tough. I couldn't complete the whole thing without taking a breather which is kind of a bummer but I'm not gonna let that get to me.

I'm still deciding what to cook for lunch later..

Lunch - Macaroni & Tomato soup
Snack - Watermelon
Dinner - Soft Tofu & Mushroom Soup

Looking forward to tomorrow's workout. Because the pain motivates me more than ever to focus and keep on track.

the second week has been a bad week for me. i gained weight instead of losing any eventhough i've been looking at what I eat and have been exercising 6 days out of 7.

Official Weigh-In
2nd Week: 197.6 lbs
SW: 200.2 lbs
Previous Weight: 195.6 lbs

Hi Yana!

You're doing great with your workouts and eating healthy food. I do think you need to eat more though. You'd be surprised how much you can eat and lose weight.

I looked up your BMR for your height, weight, age and activity level on a few sites and it shows you can eat 2800-2900 a day and maintain so if you want to lose 2 pounds a week you can eat 1800 calories a day.

I am just guessing from counting calories myself that you are eating around 1000 which is far to low.

I would buy a digital scale to weigh your food out and track your calories to see how much your actually eating.

Best of luck to you though, keep up the hard work :)

Thank you. what you have just said means a lot to me right now. It's been a pretty rough 2 weeks(?) for me as I haven't been losing as much weight as I expected to.

I always have problem counting the amount of calories I take in because I am not sure about calories and stuff.

But I'll try to take note of my intake more.

One bad news after another. Eversince I started working out, things have been going great initially but after a week, I started to get backaches and my feet started to hurt as each day passes.

So finally, after being convinced by my friends to have a check with a doctor, it was then I was told that I have tendonitis on my right ankle and both my knees. and my doctor totally stopped me from working out at all.

I'm just worried how long will this take? as I wouldn't wanna affect my weight loss plan with these injuries. Is there a way that I can still maintain my weight loss without exercising at the moment?
