workouts without dieting

i was wondering if it was ok to get into a weight training program without actually going on a strict diet? without restrictions, but still trying to eat cleaner, like no chips or anything high in fat, but just not limiting calories everyday....wat would the effects of this be and is it a good idea?

I don't mean to be rude, but you have been coming here for a long time now, and seem to just want to find any excuse to not do what you should be doing. You are a young girl, with a growing body and maybe you should wait for some maturity and means till you start trying to get into shape. We have all told you over and over again what to do and what not to do. One day you cant do one squat and the next you know you can go heavier than 60 pound weights with squats?
I just don't think you take what we all are trying to do here seriosuly and honestly its starting to border on disrespectful. We are all here to help one another with problems and will try to do what we can, but if you don't want to help yourself then well what we can offer doesn't matter. I hope you figure it out and i hope you take this as advice and not me picking on you, but really these questions are just getting silly.

And to answer your question, no eating a ton and lefting weights isn't going to anything for you, its not a good idea, and the effect is no fat loss which is what you have claimed to desire.

theleip is correct. Diet is more important than exercise for staying fit. If you put crap in your system, exercise doesn't transform it into good stuff. It's still crap, and that's what your body will be made of.

It surprises me how little people think about the old adage "you are what you eat". You see your hands, your hair, your eyes, your saliva, your feet? That's all made of stuff you've eaten. Your skin? That's made of those burgers you had last week. Your fingernails? The chicken-mcnuggets you had for lunch 8 days ago. Your body doesn't pull all this matter from nowhere. You REALLY are what you eat.

So you can see why you can't expect to be healthy unless you give your body good supplies to build itself with.

I have a questions related to this.

I eat alright, I could probly eat alot better then I do. But im not fat at all. 5'6 and 120 pounds. I workout but not to try and lose fat just to bulk. Is it ok to not be on any kind of a diet to bulk?

If you're trying to bulk, you'll need calories - preferably ones from protein, primarily, and polyunsaturated fats. Your body needs energy and building blocks. That muscle doesn't come out of thin air!

you can, i worked out for some time with no strict diet. i dont have a strict diet now, i just make sure to eat alot and then i get what i need. but i dont care if i get bigger, if you want to cut.. then id say you need a look at your diet.
