workout question

weight train ive been lifting weights for about 4 or 5 days now i have really good defenition in my arms and ive lost ~10 pounds (probally water weight when i weighted my self) but some of my shirts that were really tight are actually starting to fit. more muscle you have the more fat you burn and the better you feel. as for specific excersises ask some one else :p

math doesnt quite add up there... now it does

what i find is the fastest way to build muscle is to start with 30lbs off the maximum you can lift and do that untill you cant do it at that weight any more then go down 30 more pounds do it untill you cant do it any more and work your way down to the point where you cant lift 10 pounds. i do that every few days and the next day my muscles are so much bigger and i feel 10 times stronger. but make sure you break up your muscle groups and give your muscles resting times. and keep up the cardio 5 to 6 times a week.

I don't think it's humanly possible to lose 25 pounds in one month - that's almost 1 pound per day!
Perhaps you ought to rethink your goals .....

yeah that is an awful lot of weight to loose... instead of making your goal to loose weight why not make your goal to took more tonned and feel better about your self, the better you feel about your self the more confidence you have.

my goal is to not look like a fat kid and to look tonned and muscular. and ive given my self a few months to reach that goal.

See, When I went into high school, I wanted to lose weight. But now im out of high school and I really want to lose weight, and want to change my goal to lose weight, and look toned.. I want to be able to jog without my back hurting, And to make my family happy, my mom wants me to lose weight because my fathers side of the family had all heart problems. And I dont want Heart problems like that...

Hows this, I want to lose 40+lbs to get to a total of 65lbs .. in 3-5 months. So that would be almost 10lbs a month. and almost 5lbs a week..

{Im trying to get in the best shape I can befor I try to enlist into the army}

5 pounds a week is also not possible. You may lose 5 pounds the FIRST week you begin working out, but it's not going to be consistent. I really believe you can't set a deadline to be at a specific weight - you never know how your body will react to the exercise; and don't forget that muscle weighs more than fat.
I think it's terrific that you are so motivated to lose weight - just remember your reasons and stick to it. The weight will come off, just don't get frustrated when you plateau - it happens to everyone.
Good luck!

forget setting goals to loose weight set them to look toned. i would love to be 280lbs and look like a god your still healthy and plus the ladies love it :D

I read somewhere, that if you gain more muscle, that you will burn more fat, even wile sleeping.. or something like that. it was in the mens health mag

thats true

Increase the amount of muscle in your body. For every extra pound of muscle you put on, your body uses around 50 extra calories a day. In a recent study, researchers found that regular weight training boosts basal metabolic rate by about 15%. This is because muscle is ‘metabolically active’ and burns more calories than other body tissue even when you’re not moving.

Training with weights just 3 times a week for around 20 minutes is enough to build muscle. Not only will you be burning more calories, you’ll look better – whatever your weight.

thats one of the reasons i'm always stress to ppl that they need to eat and eat often and hit the weights when trying to lose bodyfat. typically ppl do not weight train and do not eat and the end result is a loss in muscle mass. you can see how important lean muscle is when trying to lose bodyfat. :)

The only reason i want to lose weight, is to go into the army. My weight now is 240. and the recommanded weight is 165-170.

Wouldent adding more muscle make me weight more. or wile weight training, ill be getting more muscle and burning fat at the same time?...
