I just bought me a bottle of Hydroxycut Hardcore and joined the gym on 1/27/10 , I'm planning doing one hour of cardio and about a half hour of lifting six days a week...my question is if i want to lose my belly and most of my body fat should I just focus MAINLY on cardio or both cardio and lifting and if so which one should I focus on more? also I absolutely hate treadmills all I did was bike and eliptical...also what is your guys' opinions on hydroxycut hardcore? my body fat is 33%, 50" chest and 42" waist, 6' tall, 269 LB. Also what should my workout schedule look like for my goals?when iu do cardio, i am using mainly the bike and biking 20 miles whenever the hour is done and my heart rate stays at 155-160BPM. thanks any help is appreciated, I just want to know how long until people around me start noticing me slimming down if i stick to this routine..and I'm planning on sticking to a ~3000 calorie diet...thanks again!

First of all ditch the drugs. They won't do anything for you.

Next, I think your plan is way overdoing it on exercise. Check out the stickies in the exercise forum, especially the one called "The Conceptual Side of Weight Lifting" by Steve.

A good solid full body weight routine 3x a week, supplemented by cardio in the "off" days will be a lot more effective. IF you overwork yourself, you can in fact go backwards and screw up your progress, as well as damage your health.

Kara is right - you'll do much better with LESS than what you've prescribed for yourself. Why? #1, you're going to burn out. #2, you need the cardio first. Personally, I believe in home fitness programs ... from what you've said, there's a program called Slim in Six that would be good for you. But, I like using your own body weight more than machines. I would use light weights with higher reps and do total body moves - don't just do a bicep curl, do it with a lunge or dip. That will work upper and lower at the same time, which burns more calories, and works your core as well, which is equally important. I would also scale back the calories to under 1500 a day. Use Michi's ladder - lots of fresh veggies and fruit, with protein, some fats, no heavy carbs. LOTS AND LOTS OF WATER!
