Work Out Songs?

In all honesty, rap. Some if it is hard to listen to, but let me tell ya, it'll get you moving! I find rap has a beat, and its easy to dance to, even if its just ridiculously in a room alone :p
Indian music works well. I have an interest in bellydancing, so if you also did that you could google some songs or go on youtube.
I also listen to hardcore music that most people throw down to[I don't know if any of you are familiar with that term haha] and its nice to dance to.

AC DC
Ace of Bass
Avril Lavigne
Black Eyed Peas
Black Sabbath
Bowling for Soup
Brandon Kinney
Charlie Daniels Band
Daft Punk
Fergie
Fountains of Wayne
Marilyn Manson
Nickelback
Panic! at the Disco
Paramore
Pink
Queen
Rob Zombie
The Union Underground
Clutch

those are the bands that are on my ipod right now ... mostly music has to have a certain beat to it ... for me to like in general ... then for working out to it ... that beat has to be even faster.

Matchbox Twenty
Santana (Esp. Black Magic Woman. It gets my hyped up EVERYTIME I exercise)
One Republic
Jack's Mannequin
Rob Thomas
Fergie
U2
Dave Matthews Band
Eminem
Fall Out Boy
Panic! at the Disco
Black Sabbath
The Eagles
Queen
Avril Lavigne
Maroon 5
Phil Collins
Nickelback
Five for Fighting
Joss Stone

I've got TONS more, but these are the ones I most commonly listen to while working out.

Music Really Helps the Workout

Hey all,

Not sure if everyone jams to their iPod when hitting the gym, but I started recently. It really makes time go by, and stresses you out less. One song that I've been listenin to lately (not on my player but the web) is "Takin off This Pain" by Ashton Shepherd. I can't believe the power of this girl's voice, talk about absolutely phenomenal. You can check out her video on CMT.com, worth the trip I promise. Haven't seen a country artist rock this hard since Shania's Impressin' Me Much. Anyway, she has a new album coming out March 4th called "Sounds So Good" and it looks pretty promising. Lend me your comments.

When I go to the gym I always listen to songs from my Ipod. My playlist for the gym are upbeat music like trance and techno.

I have a mix on mine. Classic Rock and Metal, some Dance music. I have different music for cardio then I do for lifting. I can't even imagine working out in a gym with out MY music.

I listen to Straight to Video by MSI[Mindless Self Indulgence] when doing my squats and situps:p
It just has this beat in the background that goes perfectly with each squat! Its also a very upbeat song.
Posed to Death by The Faint is also great.
I can go through my music and pull up A TON of music thats great for working out!

Work out Music

What music do you like to listen to when you work out?

I am finding that for me it matters what kind of workout I'm doing. If I'm running, I want rocking songs. Godzilla by Blue Oyster Cult, Black Dog by Zeppelin, Woman from Tokyo by Deep Purple, Bang a Gong by T Rex, and stuff like that. If I'm lifting I want pop music like Black Eye Peas, Enur or Shakira. If I'm jumping rope, I can't have any music.

What are your favorites?

I like listening to Drum and Bass/ Hard Trance while working out.

Podcast

I found a good podcast for workout music. I only use it for running because it's mostly dance music, and I find that the steady beat is good for that. It's called Wild Workout @ Noon. I think it's updated once a week, but it's about 45 minutes of music mixed together so there is no break in the beat between songs.

i have been listening to alot of fergie and because the race i have signed up for is the week of the honor theearth powow that i am going to i have been listening to alot of native music

is there a website you can dl the podcast?

I found a new song for motivation. It's called Walkie Talkie Man by Steriogram. It's a fast song that gets you moving and the chorus is:

He’s fat and he don’t run too fast
But he’s faster than me
Last night at the show we saw him
Going out of his tree

Hey, it works for me. :D
