If you do a Google search there is software that will calculate the Beats Per Minute per song. This is helpful if you are doing cardio. I made a playlist in iTunes of all my favorite workout tunes. Then I make another playlist that looks at playlist 1, and gives me 40 minutes of songs from list 1 that haven't been played in 3 days. This way I have a rotation of new music every day to walk on the treadmill.

as sad as I am for admiting this lol but I find Shakira and Spice girls tend to have good songs to get ya goin

I was totally into the Spice Girls when I was about 11, and I find they get me going too! Although part of it is just from the cheese of their songs :p If it's upbeat AND makes me laugh, more calories burned, right?!

I think your right.. lol i still listen to the spice girls old school music.. the new video they have i dont' really care for.. lol but most of their music is pretty upbeat.

I like to listen to salsa while I'm working out. It sounds sooooooo good, and since I don't understand what the singer is saying (Spanish), I just imagine them saying "keep on going you sexy woman", lol!!

I also like positive motivating music with a good beat:

Golden by Jill Scott
It's my life by Mariah Carrey

I like dance remixes, club remixes. These are usually pumped-up versions of popular songs. There are CD's in the "various" section at stores like Wal-Mart and Target, just do a little searching.

I have a weird mix-up mess of music I like when I am working out

PCD
Bond
Pure Disco 1 & 2
David Arkenstone
Madonna

these are the ones in my disc changer this week. Next week I am sure I will change it to something else equally odd!

Linkin Park - Live from Texas (visceral)
Gnarls Barkley - "Just a Thought" (awesome percussion)
Blink 182 - "Adam's Song" "Stay Together For the Kids" (has a different meaning for me) "I Miss You" (3 songs are somewhat depressing, but still get me fired up)

muuuusic!

I love listening to dance music when i wok out, there is a problem with that though, because i just LOVE dance and i start shaking my ass while i'm running! I look like a freak but it makes me smile :)

This week i have been listening to Britney Spears (i am such a loser) and it keeps me going. I just imagine what I want to look like, and how fab i will look on the dance floor when i get to where i want to be!

one of my favorite ways to get exercise it to go dancing. I have actually had someone ask me how I can go out and dance on the dance floor with all the skinny people without feeling ashamed of myself for being over weight.

Boy where to you start with a question like that. First off why would someone even ask such an insensetive question? Secondly why should it matter if I am not a size 2?

From my point of view I look damn good out on that dance floor! And over weight or not it doesn't stop the good lookin guys from askin me to dance!

On to Britney Spears. Liking her music doesn't mean you have to like her as a person. I happen to like her music too and I refuse to think of myself as a loser!!

I also like Milli Vanilli does anyone remember them?!!
