Hi pueltorico, it's great to see you wanting to lose weight and change your habits.

I hope that's not all you're eating for your diet. Tuna, fruit and veggies are great, don't get me wrong. But you can't starve yourself. Eat healthy throughout the day to keep your metabolism up and running. You don't want your body going into starvation mode and storing everything you eat.

It's great to see you're doing weight training. In my opinion, this is the best way to get the physique you want, the quickest. When you're weight training, I would recommend you work on simple compound exercises and make sure you lift heavy and intense. The more muscle you begin to add, the more energy you're body will need to feed them. Which is perfect for losing weight and also getting the definition you want.

Good Luck!

Thanks, and no thats not all i eat hehe, im eating veggies, low fat milk, some skinless chicken breast, trying some raw nuts , oatmeal here and there, other sorts of fish too, thats what i could've think as of now i will keep adding as soon as i find other healthy foods of course :p

Sounds like you have a good start to your plan. Cardio and weight training will definitely help, but it sounds like your diet might be an issue as you progress. I think you might not be consuming enough calories to facilitate your weight loss. You should be consuming at least 1200 calories per day in order to keep your body out of starvation mode and to keep your metabolism high from your exercise.

So keep an eye of your daily calories and if you start to feel run down and unmotivated consider increase your intake slightly.

In regards to your workouts, make sure when you are strength training you use exercises that incorporate large muscle mass. Like Squats, Lunges, Deadlifts etc.. The more muscle mass you activate the more calories you will burn and the more your resting metabolic rate will increase.

I think this is not a good diet at all. You need to keep your metabolism moving and have something from which your body can build muscles. More muscles means that your body will burn more fat when you do not exercise. Eat 5 times a day smaller portions (you should not get hungry between them) and eat lots of protein. It will help the muscle grow. I used to exercise for an hour and longer and found out two exercise that brings me same result in 20 - 30 minutes a day.

Hey,

glad to see you found the forum. I hope we can keep you motivated to keep training.

What are you doing for your weight training?

Yeah weight losers should avoid skimmed milk as it has more fats...
Low fat milk is also available for weight watchers. read the ingredients before buying..

pueltorico I think it sounds like you have made a GREAT start. CONGRATULATIONS on all the good action you have taken so far and keep up the great work! I agree with a lot of the posts - especially NGboiler.

To keep food simple you may want to check out Robb Wolf's Paleo site and download his "Fast Start" pdfs in his "FAQs" section. He even has a 2 page shopping guide and a 2 page fast start meals" guide.

Another simple way to go with the food would be a "Slow-Carb" diet -- which is like palo but with beans added, and a cheat day once a week. There is simple, solid info on Tim Ferriss' blog about that.

You might also dig Tim's post "From Geek to Freak" about how he gained massive muscle in one month, hitting the gym only like 2 times a week!

Hope that helps! Best wishes to you!
