Will a moderate db bench increase my bb bench?

Say if I bb bench 100lbs-then switch to db bench. If I started db benching 50lb dumbbells then went back to bb bench, would the 100lb bb bench seem a lot easier?

in the same workout? or if you switched BB for DB bench press for a while? you'd see gains on your BB press, yes.

always a good idea to rotate DB's and BB lifts. bi-lateral vs uni-lateral exercises keep symmetrical size and strength, and stress the muscles differently (which is why you shouldn't be surprised if your DB bench is less than half your barbell weight...i.e. you may only be able to do 40-45lbs, not 50lbs, at first, due to the need for more stabilization.

oh i was answering the first question.

i asked the same question about a week ago about why i couldn't get my bench up, so mostly everyone that replied to your question, "Say if I bb bench 100lbs-then switch to db bench. If I started db benching 50lb dumbbells then went back to bb bench, would the 100lb bb bench seem a lot easier?",
said i should do db presses 5x5 or 4x6, allowing me to grow some of my support muscles and ultimately making my barbell bench increase

sorry about the mishab

Will anyone answer it? Can it be answered?...We'll find out next time on beyond belief--fact or fiction.

it works the SAME muscles, but the DBs work more stabilizers. your chest, tri, shoulders etc will get worked and will get stronger, thus, your barbell bench, which uses all of those muscles will also get stronger.
