Why cant I lose weight? please help!

So I am 5'11 230 pounds, I started working out late last year when I was 250 pounds and managed to drop 20 pounds in a month. the following 3 months after I was incapable of losing any more weight than that so eventually I gave up.

I picked up dieting and exercise again 3 weeks ago and to my surprise I did not gain any weight through out the winter. I really picked up on my exercise and now do a 3 mile power walk/hike with a 50 pound pack. I also do the following weight/resistance training.

with 15ib weights: 15 bicep curls each arm, 15 side laterals, 15 standing dumbbell press

Pull ups Assisted(one foot on box/chair): 15 wide grip, 15 standard, 15 close grip

Push ups: 15 Wide angle, 15 standard, 15 assisted(knees down) diamond

I have also been dieting mostly on protien foods and salads and veggies and only eat less than 1300 calories a day. I have done this everyday for the past 3 weeks and have not lost a single pound! so can some one explain to me what is going on and if I am doing something wrong here.

I had the same concern before. I was exercising religiously and sticking to a good diet but still my weight refuses to shift. I was so frustrated. My gym buddy recommended a pill called Prescopodene that worked for her remarkably well. Thankfully I got lucky as well. My weight started shifting within a week.

Shalkedeagle, with your initial weight loss, do you mean that you lost 20lb in 1 month, then 0lb/month for the next 3 months?

How often do you exercise? You've said what you do, but how often do you do it? With regards to resistance training, are you just doing a single set of 15 of each exercise?

With regards to diet, I'm getting the impression that you've cut calories far too drastically, and your metabolic rate has kindly responded by drastically cutting itself. At 230lb, you should be able to lose weight while consuming over 2,000kcal/day. So 1,300kcal/day is probably too low.
