For me I don't really find men who are overweight to be attractive. They should always watch their health and do some regular exercise. Diet reviews can help them with this. Besides, if they are fit and lean, more women would find them healthy and strong. :)

Ahh...America. Land of the free, home of the vain.

I was always attracted to skinny, dark haired, dorky men until I started dating my husband. I can now fully appreciate the stockier, football-player, rugby type of man. My better half is 6'4 and an easy 330lbs. I think he would probably be "thin" at 270lbs because of his muscle mass. I have come to fully appreciate a "manly" man - one with not only muscle but a little bit of give to him as well. That being said, my primary attractors are still skinny dorky guys - with the exception of the man with charisma. Any man who can engage others in conversation and who has a sense of humor will attract me. So I suppose I don't truly have a "type".

I have ranged between 130 and 230 lbs in my lifetime. Having known my husband for 20 out of my 28 years, he has considered me beautiful throughout the gammet of that 100lbs. I think ultimately attraction is based not only upon physical appearance - and weight is only a portion of that appearance - but upon one's personality. I have known men and women alike who are either very thin or very heavy who have been incredibly attractive. For me, the measure of someone's attractiveness is only in part measured by their weight.

That being said, a part of a person's personality and pursuit of self is in their overall health. I prefer someone who has at least a connection between mind and body and who can exercise that connection in a healthy way. Someone who is in tune with their body's need for physical activity and who doesn't abandon the body's need for good nutrition.

It's corny and stupid, but aside from the initial physical attraction, I truly believe that the personality and the spirit of a person is the true measure of their attractiveness.

Skinny guys are cute, but not boyfr. material IMO, I don't tend to go on looks but would easily be put off if a guy weras smaller jeans then me!

Aside from that I don't think looks tend to matter as much to women as they do to men. Women easily get more grief for being over weight then men, check out places like Weight Watchers or Slimming World- mainly all women, why? because women feel the need to change more then men. Men either don't care or its not picked up on to the extend that it is of women.

can't. I think women who consider themselves overweight are very attractive. Being a straight man, not sure I can be as objective as you ladies about men on this. Are overweight men still attractive to you?:bigear:

For me it would depend on how overweight and the other qualities of the man.

Maybe, but also those kinds of communities are notoriously female communities and men who are overweight may not want to talk about their struggles with a group of women.

Also the social standard for male attractiveness is being muscular, not necessarily thin. So when a guy decides to get in shape he might be looking at it from the perspective of gaining muscle and fitness rather than losing weight.

I am in a weight loss group now, most of the members are middle aged women who talk about personal things. There are 2 men in the group (one of them is with his wife), but I can definitely see why men would feel out of place in a group of women talking about girly things.

Good men are good. Physical attractiveness is another, that would depend on features. Some just look attractive as they are because they fit in their features. Some are attractively fat, some attractively thin, others are plain handsome.

Women that are slightly overweight still look good because that is how the female body is designed to be. Women look better with more body fat while men look better with less body fat.

Lean women look good too, just sayin'

There is a point to be made that women need to have a certain percentage of body fat in order to have a menstrual cycle and, thus, to reproduce. Therefore, the fact that a woman may be overweight and still attractive can make sense on a purely biological level.

Sooooo, what you're saying is that, when a woman has a really heavy flow...it's because there's more of her to love?

Too much body fat can affect a woman's mentrual cycle too though. I know quite a few women who have fertility problems because being so obese has affected their hormones, and therefore drasticly lowered their fertility.

The rate of flow has absolutely nothing to do with a woman's weight. Thin women can have heavy flows, overweight women can have light flows. Heck, a single woman can have heavy or light or anywhere in between from month to month. It's rarely the same every single month.

As for what is attractive to me.... Weight isn't that much of a factor (though I think on first sight I probably wouldn't be attracted to an overly obese man, but might develop an attraction to him later based on other things like personality). Initially I'm drawn to faces - namely ones that look manly, not like little boys. I don't find clean shaven men attractive usually. Instead I prefer facial hair, but it should be kept neatly groomed. Anyone seen Roadhouse? Patrick Swayze never did much for me, even with all of his mucles. Now Sam Elliot is another story... I'd take a man like that any day! And if you added sexy bedroom eyes into the mix....? Good heavens - is it me or is it getting warm in here??? :reddevil:

I don't find overweight men attractive. Then again, I don't know that I have ever been physically attracted to anyone (I am 23). Not even my poor bf. =P I guess I can say though, that I don't find overweight men aesthetically pleasing.

I don't think that overweight women look hot, either, though I think they can be quite pretty, as long as they are not too overweight.
